  • "I came with 5 friends for a girly 50th birthday weekend."

A fantastic time had by all. Lovely and relaxing. Some little treats left for our arrival and we purchased some freshly laid eggs before we came home. Thankyou for a lovely stay x

  • "This is a brilliant place to stay."

The Hen House is an extremely comfortable house and has been kept to a very high standard. Although on a working farm, there was no disturbing noise or intrusive smells. The area is lovely and has loads of interesting places to visit. Most of all, the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They went out of their way for us. Highly recommended.

  • "Lovely cottage as a base for exploring the area."

It is a rural location, so a car is needed to get anywhere which was exactly what we expected given our research and property description. Roger and Sally were excellent hosts, even allowing us use of a vacant farm field for our dog to run around in. The welcome cake was much appreciated after our journey and the cottage is well equipped. The TV reception was not always great and it would be a nice addition to be able to access Netflix etc, especially during colder months when you can't sit outside, but this is a minor thing that did not spoil our stay. Overall we had a great week and hope to be back! P.S. Roger recommended a local pub called The Fisherman's Arms which served amazing hearty (big portioned) pub grub!

  • "The Hen House is a comfortable property, with large bedrooms and plenty of space."

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the shower which unfortunately did not work properly for the whole week, It went cold very quickly and a hot shower wasn’t possible for very long. This does need to be sorted out as it affected our holiday from a comfort perspective. Otherwise the Hen House was a great place to stay, in a great setting.

We stayed during the latest heatwave, luckily it was cooler in Herefordshire - but still the cottage wasn't too hot! Homemade Chocolate cake, cider and eggs left for us which were all lovely and thoughtful.

  • "What a fantastic cottage."

Great location Beautifully furnished. Great beds. Lovely shower room. Mega clean and tidy. Great kitchen and so well equipped. We loved it. Great owners who were very helpful. This is very much a working farm with its associated noises and tractors etc. Our dog is hyper sensitive and took a couple of days to acclimatice. The farm doggies are lovely and very friendly. Our dog even managed to make friends!!!!! However you may need to be aware that up the lane from the house are a couple of dog owners who aren’t as responsible and think it’s acceptable to allow their pack of dogs to roam free. My other half had a very unpleasant experience when our little chorkie was harassed by 4 of them. Not a massive issue but just be aware if you take your dog off the lead. But THIS WAS THE BEST (and cleanest)COTTAGE we have ever stayed in and if we are ever in the area again wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

  • "The Hen House was an excellent house for our New Year Eve break."

It was clean, spacious and very well equipped. Roger and Sally were both very welcoming on our arrival and throughout our stay we had lots of lovely chats with Roger about the farm and surrounding area. The cottage is next to a working farm, but it is so peaceful and quiet you don't hear a thing! The house had been decorated for the festivities and they left us some of their fresh eggs, a homemade cake, some milk and some local ciders and ales. We found some lovely walks around the area and will definitely be back. I can honestly say this is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in and the owners were simply the best! We can really recommend it, we'll be back! Apologies to Roger through, he took away our recycling all week.....we had a lot!!

rooms were remarkably large for a holiday rental. Everything was neat, clean, and of good quality. Beds were comfortable. We especially liked the peace and absolute quiet at night. A good base for exploring the area. Many thanks to Roger and Sally for making us so welcome (eggs, fruit, chocolate cake, milk were all laid on for us).
