  • "We had the pleasure of staying at the Hut for nearly 3 weeks whilst our bungalow was being renovated."

What a gem it is. After the daily chore of dealing with and tending to tradesmen, it was a joy to retreat to the calm and serenity of the Hut. Its situation in an orchard is ideal for those hot days. Sitting in the shade of an apple tree whilst sipping a glass of wine, was the ideal way to relax. Our dog loved the freedom of pottering about the fully enclosed orchard, and got on well with the owners dogs. The owner herself is a charming and extremely helpful person. It was a pleasure to meet her. She made sure that our stay was a good one. The local area is well catered for with excellent pubs and takeaways, and places to visit.

  • "What a little gem."

The most beautiful of places in a fantastic setting. The place to go for a relaxing, comfortable stay. Basic cooking facilities, but surrounded by great places to eat. Loved being there.

  • "The Hut is lovely; warm and cosy, clean, practical and beautifully secluded, and having a modern internal bathroom is a real bonus for such accommodation."

Evelyn is the perfect hostess, friendly and helpful and makes for a relaxed stay in a pretty historical hamlet at the centre of many attractions in a rich and varied part of the world that is still very much an incredibly varied, yet almost secret destination. Other visitors have commented that a microwave and separate toaster would be helpful, and that is true, but this is a simple, no frills, holiday base that is what it is, which is in itself refreshing. Very happy to recommend and will return; but also note - there are two good pillows, but 'no bedding' is just what it says, and means no duvet or blankets,

  • "We stayed here the first weekend of April, we pulled down the driveway and we’re greeted by the owner who was so welcoming and friendly."

Evelyn showed us to the hut which she had already warmed for us with a small radiator and offered us more firewood to keep warm during the afternoon/evening. The views are absolutely gorgeous, the horse and alpacas were lovely to watch grazing. We found a few different footpaths and took a stroll with the dog each day, and we drove into market bosworth (we could have walked but it was so cold) and we went to the Red Lion Pub which is dog friendly, there were also a few other pubs which stated they were dog friendly. It was a lovely little break and we are really thankful to Evelyn for our lovely stay.

  • "Peaceful & relaxing - Just what the doctor order!"

The Hut is well positioned for lovely long walks with the added bonus of a pretty market town close by. The garden area is large and very secure, even our mad mut couldn’t escape. As mentioned in other reviews there is now a patio area with a chiminea & bbq which was great to watch the sunset. The only note for others is that no bed linen should really say no bedding. Might also be worth taking a wooden spoon & sharp knife if you plan on doing some cooking. This is in no way a criticism as we had a fabulous break and would book again.

  • "The pics on your website must be early ones, because the orchard it is in is beautiful and more mature now, there is an outside seating patio with a chimnea which was great too but not on the pics."

Very impressed, superb location and excellent accommodation. We will definately be going back.

  • "The Hut could do with a seperate toaster and some comfier chairs inside the property but it's a lovely place to stay and has modern facilities especially the shower room."

Location is great if you want peace and quiet the only noise being Alpaca's or from the farm. Would definitely stay there again if we are back in that part of the country.

  • "We had a fantastic long weekend."

The grounds are 100% secure for a dog, our cockapoo had the best weekend ever, enjoying running around. The owner is so lovely and accommodating, she also had a cockapoo so our dogs had a good play together. It’s so peaceful just sitting and watching the alpacas and pony. We had a bbq every night and had the chiminea going. You’ll need to take your own bbq equipment and coal. The hut was very clean and cosy. Tip for the shower after I’d read a comment about there not been enough hot water. Let the shower run until it’s cold. Wait 10min and you’ll have plenty of hot water for showering. The nearby village is lovely, there is a huge park next to it too. We had some lovely walks down the lanes. I can’t fault this place, we’ll definitely book again. For dog owners this place is perfect, you can sit back and relax knowing your dog can’t get out and has so much space to run and play. I think our cockapoo was sad to be going home. Just as we were

  • "Wow, what a wonderful place to stay."

The hut was very comfortable but what made it most lovely, was the host Evelynne. She made us very welcome and was extremely friendly. Waking up in the morning with such a lovely view of alpaca's and ponies was so relaxing. The enclosed garden was great for our dog to run around safely. Would definitely recommend this little Sheperds hut to anyone wanting some R & R.

  • "The Hut provides a lovely base for exploring the area."

We were pleasantly surprised to find how well laid out it is. Leicestershire is a beautiful county, loads of open green spaces, canals and woodland which is all great for walking (especially if you have a dog!). If you don't fancy exploring the Hut is also a nice place to hang out. We had great weather so we were able to sit outside. The alpacas provide excellent viewing entertainment! The owner is very friendly and welcoming and easy to access if needed. All very animal friendly, our dog had a lovely time just relaxing and taking walks around the farm and surrounding area. Only things we'd suggest for improvement would be the capacity of the hot water tank supplying the shower…we were advised it had a small capacity but it really didn't last more than a minute or so. It soon reheated for the next person though. Additionally, a microwave would have been really welcome. Also, need for some more comfy chairs for sitting out (we brought our own loungers and were glad we had). Otherwise it was a prefect stay. All in all we thoroughly recommend this accommodation and Leicestershire in general as a holiday destination.

  • "We wanted a few days away from the stresses of this year and we weren’t disappointed."

I don’t think you could ask for a more idyllic situation than where this hut was located; well away from the farm with just a pony and a couple of alpacas to keep us company in the next field. The owner, Evelyn, has planted a lovely apple orchard outside the hut where we sat out to eat or just read our books in the beautiful silence. She gave us such a lovely warm welcome and we’d love to go back there again. Nicely located in Barton In The Beans but not too far (less than 10 minutes) from some lovely towns, pubs and Chinese takeaways. No TV or WiFi, which actually influenced our choice, so take some good reading material or talk to each other
