This charming cottage rests in the village of Lowesby in Leicestershire, near to the village of Tilton on the Hill, opposite the lovely village green.

Park up to two cars on the drive, and take in the classic exterior of this historic property on the grand Lowesby Estate, before entering straight into the well-presented utility boot room, where you can hang up coats and leave shoes to continue exploring.

Move into the fabulous kitchen/diner, a stunning space thanks to the harmonious neutral colour palette and the high-quality fittings within, you will want to get cooking as soon as you walk in.

A large centre island offers the perfect place to gather around to toast your holiday with a glass of fizz, before settling around the dining table to tuck into a delicious meal.

Explore the surrounding area by setting off on a walk from your doorstep, or bring your bikes and set about seeing the scenery from two wheels.

For a fantastic day out, visit one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe, Rutland Water Reserve, for a whole host of amenities and activities like their own bug and reptile zoo, a large nature reserve which is perfect for observing wildlife, a play area the children will love, as well as fishing and birdwatching.

Historically founded in Saxon times, Tilton on the Hill was at the crossroads of old paths between Leicester, Oakham, Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray, offering great access to markets and towns. Nowadays the village is a pretty English settlement with a mix of original cottages and modern houses built in a classic style. Home to a village general store, a pub called the Rose and Crown, and a village hall hosting community events and clubs, its a delightful environment to enjoy a peaceful break. There's lots to do in the surrounding area, little ones will love Rutland Farm Park where they can feed the animals, Twinlakes Outdoor Waterpark and Theme Park will be a hit in summer, and on rainy days go to Flip Out Leicester for some indoor bouncing fun!
