It was just me and my husband and the dog, as our children were away on school trips. But we would definitely come back with them sometime as they would love the games room! It had everything we needed and the cake, eggs, bread and butter were a lovely touch and delicious. Thank you for a great stay!

  • "We loved staying in Farm View House."

When we arrived the house was immaculate and the facilities superseded our expectations. The fresh cake and bread was a lovely touch on arrival and the surrounding walks were lovely. Hot tub and games room were a big plus. We would definitely book here again. The only thing would I would recommend to future visitors is if you have a low rise car be careful at the angle you go onto the drive as it can just catch the underside of the car but done at the right angle and slowly you should be fine and also being near a farm you get a few flies (obviously no reflection on the owners) so I would recommend bringing something to combat that but otherwise an amazing stay.

The hot tub was excellent and I particularly wanted to thank “Rachel Serio” who gave up some of her annual leave to drop round an extra duvet as I misread the listing regarding the double bed becoming a twin. She also phoned me to let me know that one of my daughters had left some of her spending money behind in the property. Not only did she send me the money directly into my bank account but has also posted out the purse to me. Wow!!! What a nice lady. - I would definitely visit this property again

However, I was extremely disappointed with Skyes as a company. This weekend was originally booked for early April and we were obviously unable to attend due to covid restrictions. It should not have taken a further 5 months and for Martin Lewis and the consumer ombisman to become involved for you to offer me a refund. This should have been done immediately. As such I will be very reluctant to use you as a company again.

Rachel communicated well and left us some essentials for arrival which were appreciated (bread, butter, milk, eggs). The beds are really comfortable and the house is immaculately clean. The cottage is at the end of the village and an easy walk to the local pub and shop. Only thing we'd add is a guide describing how to work things such as the TV and hot tub chemical routine - but a minor point in a very lovely stay. Rutland Water has lots of walks and Melton Mowbray was good on a wet day.
