  • "Fantastic weeks stay at Springwell cottage."

Immaculate accomodation throughout and we couldn't fault it in anyway, by far the best we've stayed at. Stunning rural countryside but really close to an Aldi and Marsdens pub "The Elms" which is dog friendly inside and does fantastic food. Lutterworth is closeby with lots of small shops and character filled pubs. Bathroom/Shower room towels plentiful, also provided toilet rolls, shampoo, hand wash etc. Lots of Kitchen equipment and cutlery. Electric oven, Microwave and Dishwasher. Seperate utility room with Tumble dryer and Washing Machine. Wifi was perfect and met our adult kids needs!! Secure wrap around garden perfect for dogs with front and back doors. Horses the paddock was a lovely. Arable farm (plants) so no farm animal smells. Owners were incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive to questions and have clearly responded to other reviewers comments eg installing outdoor light etc. We really couldn't find anything negative to say about our stay. We will definatley be back regularly to visit family now we've found this little gem!

  • "Had a lovely week in Springwell Cottage 25th March to 1st April."

Our family came for a Birthday celebration and stayed for the weekend. There was everything we could possibly want , it was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfy. The kitchen was perfect for 8 of us. The heating (fortunately) was super efficient and we needed it as it was very cold towards the end of our stay. Only slight niggle was that the bins were full and we just had to leave the rubbish in bags in the bin area. Would definitely recommend the cottage and the surrounding area.

Only thing we would have liked was an iron and ironing board, but I guess I wouldn't usually be ironing on holiday lol

  • "Really nice cottage with good facilities, very clean and a perfect garden for dog owners too."

Considering it’s so close to the M1 it was really peaceful and Emma responded immediately on a message when we needed something. It was great to have large sofas and good beds as my partner is 6ft 7 and doesn’t often get to stretch out on a holiday. On the slight down side though we had to clear 3 large deposits of dog poo from the grass when we got there. Arriving after 4pm and in the dark there was also no working outside light ( front or back door) , and the front steps are a bit tricky. Luckily we had a torch. We would have appreciated a little info on the nearest food shops to get some quick provisions as it was unusual these days not to have a little milk for a cuppa on arrival. There was also no mention of how we would have used the log burner if it had been a little colder.

Friendly owner, not intrusive and for dog and horse lovers it is ideal. Bonus was seeing 12 red kites close up on the field as we drove in. Beautiful birds….

  • "Description of 3 bathrooms is incorrect."

The property has one bathroom, one shower room and three wc's. The door to the downstairs shower room has no key for the lock, so unable to lock the door when in use. The property was very clean and well presented. The lady owner and her children were wonderful.

  • "Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting."

Lots of local amenities on the doorstep and the owners were friendly. House was well equipped and spacious and garden nice and secure for the dogs. Only observation would we'd have liked a lock/bolt on the downstairs bathroom/toilet as with eight people in the house, occasionally others walked in when the toilet or shower was in use which was a bit embarrassing, especially with two young teenage girls in the party.

  • "We loved our stay at Springwell cottage."

The place was cleaned beautifully and beds made. Everything was very comfotable and working well. The groundfloor bedroom has its own bathroom but its not quite ensuite as you must leave your bedroom to access it. All facilities are modern, the fridge light goes on automatically and water pressure is excellent both hot and cold water works with electric pump. Its on a working farm so our children loved to watch the combine harvester at work and lovely horses and chickens too. Garden was very well maintained and very peaceful. Wonderful, friendly neighbours, we definitely would recommend this place! Many thanks!

  • "Unfortunately, when we arrived at approx 8pm in the evening after an arduous journey from the South East of England, we found there to be no water available in the property."

After phoning each of the 3 numbers left in the information pack provided by the hosts and receiving no response, my husband went to find the farmhouse itself and was told by a relative of the hosts that she too had no water and had not been informed as to why but thought that they may be doing some work somewhere on the farm? As we had not had a drink since leaving home and wanted to cook our meal, not to mention using a bathroom, this was not a good start to our break. Eventually after about an hour and a half we did get water, which had so much orange muddy sediment in it we couldn't use it without boiling it first. We also had to endure some horrendous noises coming from a locked cupboard in the downstairs bathroom, which continued through the night. The following morning we again experienced water failure so we assumed there was a leak somewhere in the area trying to be fixed. Knowing that we were experiencing problems we did assume that perhaps the hosts would call in to see how we were managing, but for the time we stayed at the property, Friday to Tuesday, we saw nothing of them whatsoever!!! This was all a shame as the house itself is lovely, very clean and comfortable (especially the beds :-) ) for 8 guests, if a little near the motorway, which would cause a problem in the hot summer evenings if you wanted a window open. The noise of the traffic can very definitely be heard, although is dampened by the double glazing. A couple of other small niggles, were the outside light which was not fit for purpose when trying to unload a car on the driveway in the dark, it was difficult to see to get the key in the door, plus the lack of full length mirrors anywhere in the house. We did eventually find cutlery on our arrival which had been left in the un-emptied dishwasher. Perhaps a guest feedback book where guest can jot down these minor points would be of use. Overall our stay was fine, we had booked as a celebratory weekend for a family get together and everyone enjoyed themselves in spite of the bad weather (storm Dennis).

  • "Overall it was the perfect spot and house set up for our family winter weekend get together with 3 couples, 2 toddlers and a baby (grandparents & 2 daughters families) from Wiltshire, Yorkshire and Buckinghamshire."

The kitchen was reasonably well equipped to cook breakfasts, suppers and a Sunday roast. You do have to bring ALL food including salt & pepper and may want to bring a smaller casserole dish if you need it. There are large roasting trays and 2 large rectangular open dishes, plus saucepans & frying pans of various sizes. We made some suggestions for additional items/facilities (which we understand will be added so no point mentioning them here). A previous review said no microwave in the kitchen but now there is one. We could not find the cot and left messages in the afternoon as the people running the cottage were out. The cot was eventually delivered at about 7.30pm on Friday night after they returned home. We had requested it but apparently Sykes had not passed this request on to them.

Accommodated six adults, two children and two babies easily. Beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortable and cosy. Everything there and a welcome pack too. Lovely farmhouse kitchen to sit in. One minus was no microwave, which didn't really make a big difference but would have been handy for babies bottles. Emma and her husband were lovely and welcoming, even taking us to see the horses in the stable. In a lovely setting on the farm and lots to do in the area. Try the National Space Centre in Leicester, half hour away, it was fabulous. Definitely will be back. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
