  • "Stayed for a weekend with friends, lovely cottage, beautifully kept with everything we needed for our stay, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen if eating in, fantastic hot tub in a quirky cave, loved it."

Great location right on the riverside at the bottom of High town, parking outside cottage was no issue, plenty of spaces. Thanks Sue for the welcome hamper, The fresh flowers and robes were also a lovely touch. Would definitely visit again with the family .

  • "We have rented this property many times and each time it lives up to our expectations so that is the best recommendation, we have also booked again for later on in the year."

But for those who are thinking about booking you won't be disappointed. It is beautifully kept and well equipped. The beds and 3 piece suit are all very comfortable with added soft furnishings for extra comfort. All in all our little bit of heaven to escape from rat run. The top bedroom stairs could be difficult for some but this is always the room of my choice as its so bright in the day but still cosy in the morning. The hot tub is lovely and located in the most perfect spot so come rain or shine it's a pleasure. The cottage is well situated close to the town with plenty shops. We have booked other properties but this is definitely our favorite. We don't have a dog anymore and it always surprises me that I have never found evidence of a dog in the house which just shows the high standards of cleanliness. The owners communication is brilliant and responded to any questions we had very quickly. Nothing was to much much trouble to ensure our stay was complete. The black boy pub just behind the cottage is recommended, no frills just a nice friendly pub.

  • "This was our second time visiting this cottage, and our stay was just as relaxing and enjoyable as the first."

The hot tub in the cave and log burner are excellent. The owners were very responsive when we messaged with any questions. Thank you.

  • "A delightful cottage within walking distance of the shops and river walks."

There are many different sets of steps to walk up to the high town or you can meander up and round the streets. We cooked meals in the kitchen…It’s only small but is fully equipped with all mod cons. And of course, the hot tub is a winner, inside the cave at the back of the cottage. A very clean and well maintained place,

  • "Its a property full of character and the setting of the hot tub in a cave makes it really special."

Spotlessly clean, high quality finish and in a nice location next to the river. Parking was no problem at only a short but steepish walk into the town center. Would point out the stairs are fairly steep but I guess that is to be expected in a cottage like this.

  • "It was a lovely small cottage, we needed a dog friendly one, so we chose this property."

It wasn't until we paid that we got told no dogs upstairs, our dog is only young and has never been left alone, we wouldn't have booked this cottage if this was told straight away in the description. Me and my husband took turns sleeping downstairs which wasn't very comfortable at all. The hot tub was lovely but got told to only switch it on and off, the jets weren't very powerful at all (maybe energy cutbacks??) was just like having a warm bath. Location was great, would I stop here again, yes but without a dog.

Hi Diane, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We do appreciate it. I just wanted to mention that almost all dog friendly holiday lets don’t allow dogs upstairs, but I will make sure it’s shown clearly on the website in future. We are dog lovers and the cottage is perfect for doggy breaks, lots of countryside & river walks straight from the front door. I always make sure there are treats, blankets, towels, poo bags ready for use. The hot tub is not on an economy / energy cutback setting. However, the instructions have now been rewritten and are easier to follow showing how to adjust the temperature to your personal preference & how to use the jet settings (low & high). We did have contact during your stay, but unfortunately the hot tub / dog issues weren’t mentioned. So I was unaware until til I read your review. If I had known I would have tried to help. I do hope you consider another stay at 31 Riverside in the future. Warm regards Property Owner

About the location

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape.
