  • "We had a lovely stay at Riverside."

The house was clean and well equipped. It was a nice surprise to have a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge when we arrived. The views of the river were gorgeous and we were ideally situated for trips to Ironbridge and Much Wenlock. We would definitely recommend this property.

  • "We loved our long weekend stay at this property with our two little ones aged 3 and 5."

We arrived to the property in the evening and were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper and Halloween treats and decorations for the little ones too, which was a lovely surprise. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and was perfect for us. We enjoyed the log burner on the cooler evenings and the location was also perfect. The parking was not an issue at all, we parked behind the Falcon pub and then walked back so only took a few minutes. great location for both the low and high town and plenty of places to see, eat and drink. We tried a couple of the places recommended! We would love to return again to this lovely cottage - Thank you both for your hospitality.

  • "A really lovely well-maintained cottage with character."

The design and fittings were top class and we liked the dining area with its curved ceiling which we felt referenced the history of cave dwelling in Bridgnorth. Bridgnorth was a delight and very pedestrian friendly.

  • "What a wonderful cottage!"

Absolutely immaculate. The host was so helpful and sent us an email with all of the information we needed for our stay including details of car parking options. We arrived to a lovely welcome hamper and a card with details of things we may need during our stay including recomended places to eat. The property itself is very well equipped and had all the mod cons for a very comfortable weeks stay. The stairs are quite steep in the house but we managed them and our five year old soon got the hang of them. The views from the bedrooms overlooking the river severn are fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the whole house had a lovely homely feel. It really felt like we were arriving home after a day out exploring. Our daughter loved it so much she cried on our last morning as she didn't want to leave. Thanks for a great stay

Bridgnorth is a hidden gem! The property has been updated to a high standard making it warm and comfortable. The stairs are steep and narrow typical of an older cottage - might be tricky for those with mobility issues. Facilities were great with all mod cons.

We were able to settle in straightaway as there was a thoughtful welcome pack and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The location was brilliant too; it was easy to walk around Bridgnorth from 5 Riverside and discover restaurants, shops and cafes. Bridgnorth is an excellent base for travelling to other pretty villages and National Trust properties. There is plenty to see and do. We had a very relaxing break.

Lounge is really cosy and a great place to relax in the evenings. It has all the amenities needed for a long break including a dishwasher and washing machine and even has a fab garden with great views. Location is perfect for both low and high town with everything in walking distance including supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. Access is really easy, especially compared to other properties in the town. Street parking is available for up to one hour and from 6pm to 8am outside the properties on Riverside whilst long term parking is available across the bridge in low town for only £10 for the week. Much appreciated welcome hamper and great comms from the owner. Would highly recommend and we will look to return on our next visit to Bridgnorth.

  • "We had an excellent 3 week holiday at 5 Riverside."

The owners Heather and Damian were fantastic with lots of thoughtful touches around the house to give us a lovely stay. They were quick to reply to any questions we had and even came round with extra pots and pans for us. The house is in a very convenient location, 10 min walk to shops, restaurants and town centre, great views on the river and nice walks nearby. Our car (Volkswagen polo) didn’t fit on the parking spot outside the house but we were able to park in the nearby pay and display car park which was 24 pound for the week and it was handy to have the pull up spot to drop things off. The outdoor garden is also a great space with table and chairs. As advertised the stairs in the house are steep but very manageable. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks. Susie

About the location

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.

Please note: we cannot accommodate bookings checking in on a Sunday. A 2 week price would be charged.
