  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blackbird cottage and Jenny went above and beyond to make our experience even more special."

The cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there were some delicious treats too. The cottage is a good size for a couple, with everything to hand in the kitchen and cosy throws and furniture in the lounge. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and a very good shower in the bathroom. There is ample parking which is a bonus in Coalport. The location is superb for all of the museums, pubs, cafes and walks, the Silkin Way being on the doorstep and the River Severn just a short stroll away. Jenny is a great host and I would highly recommend this cottage.

Thank you Chantal for your very kind review, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. it is the first time anyone as stopped over the Xmas period so I wasn't quite sure if I got it right so thank you again for your lovely comments about the decorations and look forward to seeing you both in February Jenny Property Owner

The dining experience was a challenge for two adults and two children once the table was pulled out and erected. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack.

  • "We had a lovely stay in Magpie cottage."

The cottage is beautifully furnished with all the kitchen equipment we could have wished for. Also, the beds are comfortable. Plenty of parking space for two big cars and a very pleasant back garden with garden furniture. Can I suggest a kitchen draining rack for when washing up is done, also a non slip mat for use inside shower/bath. These are not complaints, just suggestions. We visited Blists Hill Victorian town which was fantastic, also nearby museums are well worth a look. Coalport is such a pretty place with lovely riverside walks, we shall certainly be returning.

Thank you very much for your feedback of my cottage it is much appreciated, also thanks for your suggestions they all help. Kind regards Jenny Property Owner

  • "A very well appointed cottage that is in easy striking distance of all the attractions in the Ironbridge area, especially the YHA cafe just over the road at the China museum."

It was a bonus to have Sky Sports! Lots of good pubs to eat in as well, especially the Shakespeare Inn. Thought the tile museum was very good and needs more publicity, also enjoyed the Maws Craft Centre, walking distance from the cottage.

About the location

IRONBRIDGE

Telford 6 miles; Bridgnorth 8.5 miles; Shrewsbury 15 miles.

Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties.
