Lovely home a few problems that were fixed quickly except the hot tub we tried and tried to get it going (we are very used to hot tubs) but to no avail which was very disappointing especially to my granddaughter

  • "We had a lovely stay at Woodland Lodge: everything set ready in our arrival for a warm welcome."

The days we spent with excursions to the surroundings and walks on the estate. In a guide to the house some walks are described but we missed proper signage and were desperate in nowhere sometimes - maybe something to think about? Comfy seating in the garden room and cozy drawing room in the evenings - what else you look for? Definitely a place to book and return!

  • "We had a wonderful weekend stay at Woodland Lodge, to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday."

The accommodation was ideal for us, our son and daughter in law and two children aged 10 and 7 and their dog. The property and surrounds are perfect for dog owners. The property is beautifully decorated and maintained and oh so peaceful - and it was very warm and cosy. Two things that are not particularly clear from the partifulars: Firstly, the principal bedroom and smaller double interconnect - ideal for a family of 4, but could cause difficulties if you are not related. Secondly, although there is a shower attachment, there is no proper shower over the bath, which we would have preferred. But I have to say, we did have a great time!

  • "We had thoroughly enjoyable stay at Woodland Lodge."

We followed the written directions and found it with no problems at all. What a fantastic setting! It felt like a proper home from home, yet a real treat at the same time, with a beautiful garden room to relax in with views over the garden and part of the estate. The welcome pack was a lovely touch (thank you!) and meant we were settled on the sofa with a cold beer in hand within minutes of arrival! The lodge was very well appointed and had everything we needed and more! We enjoyed chilling in the lounge area by the wood burner in the evenings and making use of the little bar area for a few drinks. The walks suggested in the guide book went from the door and we joined them all together for a proper explore of the estate (about 6.5 miles of relatively easy walking, walking boots recommended for the muddy bits). Lovely to be able to leave the car behind for a day too. Beds were super comfy, house spotlessly clean and lovely and warm, kitchen and entire property completely devoid of flies, massive roll top bath for a long, hot soak and a loo with a view! We loved staying in Woodland Lodge and would definitely recommend a visit.

  • "Woodland Lodge was the perfect house to spend quality time together in a stunning location."

The garden room was superd for relaxing after a walk in the local area, lovely and warm thanks to the underfloor heating and incredibly comfy sofas. The dinning kitchen was the hub of the house where we spent most of our time overlooking the garden while preparing food. Excellent attention to detail, with scales, garlic crusher, serving dishes, wine glasses we wanted for nothing. The hot tub was great ( lovely and warm once heated up) for a chill after days out walking and tea at one of the many local pubs. Plenty of parking right outside too. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and the house manager was on hand if any issues (we did not need this but he popped by the say hello and check all was ok) Overall 5* will definitely be back

  • "The cottage was lovely in an amazing setting and we loved our stay but you have no private access to the third bedroom , you have to walk through the second bedroom ."

This may not suit everyone. The hot tub, whilst being eco friendly was impossible to heat , we used bags of logs and in the end gave up. This did not spoil our enjoyment of the cottage but would be something I would avoid for any future bookings. We missed a hot tub night and was one of the reasons we booked this cottage. The setting is stunning and we loved the care taken to leave milk , other basics and beer and Prosecco. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has wonderful individual touches. If you are not concerned about the bedrooms and hot tub I would definitely recommend a stay .

Dear Guest Thank you for you feedback it is very much appreciated, we are very happy you enjoyed your stay at our property. In relation to the hot tub, as mentioned on the website and in the welcome brochure it is eco-friendly and wood-fired, therefore it does require approximately 1 hour to heat (which on request we can have this heated in advance of your arrival). The hot- tub requires regular supply of logs to fill which are provided to keep at the required temperature, apologies this has not been made apparent prior or during your stay. We hope to see you again soon. (Holiday Let Team - Packington) Property Owner

  • "Perfect relaxing weekend away with Mum and Sister in this beautiful Cottage."

Home from home, spacious, comfortable and cosy with everything we needed. The whole property was spotlessly clean with crisp white bedding and luxury towels provided for each guest. Welcome gifts on arrival was a lovely added touch. The Sun Room was our favorite place to sit back and relax looking out at the stunning views of the peaceful surroundings. The lounge is a great space to chill out in front of the TV with the log fire burning away. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely return.

  • "Quite simply, stunning!"

If you're looking for a quiet place to escape from it all - this is it! Sympathetically renovated, with everything you could possibly need provided (even scales in the kitchen, to every type of glass possible for those drinks!), set in pin drop quiet location, surrounded by nature (we saw muntjacs and heard owls) and gorgeous views - what's not to love. We had a long girly weekend stay in November, for four tired Mums who wanted some R&R and we couldn't have chosen a better place. From soaking in the hot tub, sitting in the beautiful sunroom looking out to the garden during the day, to cosying up in the lounge with the log fire on in the evening - the girls especially liked the 'cocktail corner' bar area, such a cute design feature. We had a couple of walks across the estate - the views are just stunning and walking through woods and pathways was lovely before going back to the cottage for some homemade soup. The welcome basket left for us was a really lovely touch and even included some of the Packington Free Range Eggs that are from the estate - they were so good and we are all converted to these super tasty white eggs with a really golden yolk. We booked a table at the Shrewsbury Arms in Albrighton, about a 6 minute drive away which was really good. Was very busy on the Saturday, so would recommend booking in advance. Overall, this was a fabulous stay, exactly what we were looking for, in a place that's been renovated and decorated beautifully, really thoughtfully done - we would definitely go back.

  • "Wow-what a fabulous place to stay!"

Our family loved this cottage that was spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. The garden room filled with the morning sun was utterly divine - perfect space to relax in, but then we decamped to the sitting room for the cosy log burner at night. Hot tub was a real treat and loved the other thoughtful touches such as the generous welcome pack provided by the hosts (thankyou!). Everything we could have needed was included and we'd definitely come back to explore more of the area. Loved Shrewsbury, very dog friendly, including the prison lol - well worth a visit. As was Hawkestone Park Follies with it's incredible views and walks. Super break, would definitely recommend.

  • "The negatives (all easily fixed!"

): Very difficult to find (Don't rely on the what3words) Only enough wood for two days hot tub use. Otherwise you have to buy bags at £12 and need 2-3 bags per use. There should be enough for nightly use. Bath not properly cleaned (scum ring) FLIES. Completely understand that this is a hazard when staying near woods/ chicken farm but they need to provide fly spray (it was empty) and I would strongly recommend they invest in a proper electric fly killer in the kitchen (particularly given other guests had made the same comments i the visitor's book). No instructions for the oven or hot tub (we googled but frustrating) One of the walks they suggest in the info pack was impossible due to crops where the footpath should be. Generally they could do with better maps and marking for the walks. The positives: Brilliant location for visits to Iron Bridge, Blist Hill, David Austin etc. Walks are possible straight out the door The property is lovely, very nicely decorated and well-equipped Comfortable bed Garden is perfect for dogs- secure

  • "The property was lovely, it was comfortable and clean."

The welcome pack was a nice touch. The only issues we had were with the amount of flies around the property. The windows and doors could not be left open, so it was very stuffy on warm days. If this issue was resolved, I would give the property 5 stars.

Dear Guest Thank you for your valued feedback. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay at our Woodland Lodge. We are constantly trying to reduce the amount of flies at the property by installing various insect repellents, but due to the location of the property and due to the land being a working farm, insects are expected. We have had an unusual summer with a high volume of flies along with neighbouring properties in the Pattingham area. We will continue to do all we can to reduce the flies at the property. We hope you'll visit us again soon. Holiday Let Team (Packington) Property Owner

  • "Loved the cottage and the peacefulness of the location."

Dogs loved the large garden which was very secure. Road to cottage had a few potholes and the directions sent by Sykes were incorrect using a road that is now overgrown and has a locked gate so impassable. Only downside was not being able to open the door/windows on hot days because of the amount of flies.

  • "The cottage itself was faultless."

Clean, comfortable and well equipped. I would have had no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone had it not been for the presence of so many flies making it impossible for us to make as much use of the outside facilities as we would have liked.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of an issue with some flies at the property which we are constantly trying to resolve. Unfortunately due to the difficult summer we have had, the increase in flies has been significant over the Pattingham area in general. We have however now installed an EFK to the property to assist with this. We hope you'll visit us again soon. Holiday Let Team (Packington) Property Owner

  • "The property and the garden are beautiful."

We had a lovely welcome pack. The surrounding area is stunning with lots of beautiful walks. Lovely to sit outside and listen to the birds. We spotted hares and an owl one evening. Very quiet with occasional cars going past to the activity centre. It really did feel like we were in the middle of nowhere The reason I haven’t given five stars is because the flies really did have a huge impact on our stay. They were everywhere! It was difficult to cook and prepare food due to them being on every surface. It was even difficult to relax indoors due to them landing on you all the time. We were supplied with fly spray but that didn’t solve anything. I realise we were surrounded by livestock and don’t know what can be done about them but it really spoiled our stay and would prevent us returning. The toilet cistern was constantly filling which was noisy, especially for people sleeping in the adjoining rooms. We told the site manager twice but it wasn’t dealt with during our stay Overall we had a pleasant stay in a very comfortable house. I’m sure in cooler months it is even more comfortable without the flies!

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of the flies around the property, we are constantly trying to rectify this but unfortunately due to the difficult summer, we have seen an increase in flies over the Pattingham area. • "We had an absolutely beautiful stay here at Quarry lodge."

Despite the constant change in weather, we made the most of the private lands, hot tub and games provided. The whole building was clean and tidy with lots of spaces to sit and room to move around. All beds were comfy and a cot provided for a baby was super useful! The use of cleaning equipment for the kitchen and laundry room and utensils for the kitchen were a massive plus and were extremely useful and a brilliant gesuture. We met a few friendly locals who live on the estate that were kind and shared some interesting information about the grounds. The nature you’re surrounded by is second to none. We would absolutely love to come back and are already in discussions with our family about arranging our next date. My only suggestion would be for some fly repellents/ precautions to be put in place. When we arrived there was an absurd amount but nothing a shop trip for fly spray didn’t help with.

Plenty to do for kids and lots of walks for dogs. There’s absolutely no phone signal in or around the immediate house though (EE or Three) and there was no Wi-Fi in the house either as they’d been let down with the installation. Don’t be deceived by the remoteness of the house, lock everything. We woke up to an open car door and open outside utility room. Luckily nothing taken.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback and we are very happy you enjoyed the property.
