About the location

Much Wenlock 6 miles; Church Stretton 10 miles; Shrewsbury 13.3 miles; Bridgnorth 14 miles; Ludlow 20 miles.

Church Preen is a dispersed hamlet and small civil parish in central Shropshire. It is close to the small, popular town of Much Wenlock, a stunningly beautiful medieval town which also played a part in the birth of the modern Olympic Games. In recognition of our sporting heritage, the 2012 London Olympic Games named one of their mascots Wenlock. Church Stretton lies in the heart of South Shropshire. The town sits amidst striking scenery and has often been described as "Little Switzerland". The town is the main centre for the Shropshire hills; the only town in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to a variety of tea rooms, pubs and specialist shops. Other local attractions include walks on the Long Mynd, the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and Stokesay Castle. The historic towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge, Much Wenlock and Bishops Castle are only a short journey away, making Church Preen an excellent base for your Shropshire escape.
