  • "We fell in love with Ironbridge itself, and the apartment is just perfect, everything you could possibly need, a real home from home, just a short stroll to the bridge itself and all the lovely shops Ironbridge has to offer, did a little sightseeing in the area, but we were mostly happy to relax."

...and have an amazing Afternoon Tea at Sarahs beautiful Tearoom - Grays of Shropshire - an absolute gem, where nothing is too much trouble, and the lightest scones you will ever eat. Thank you Sarah, we will hopefully be able to come back soon.

  • "Lovely apartment overlooking the River Severn."

Lots of walks nearby. I recommend visiting the local museums especially blists Hill museum. The apartment is situated right in Ironbridge and very well equipped with everything you will need. Ironbridge has some interesting quirky shops and full of history. Not far away is Ludlow well worth a visit and also further on Wales with stunning scenery.

  • "The whole trip, from the moment of booking onwards, was smooth and consistently exceeded our expectations."

Booking was straightforward, arrival arrangements simple and the welcome we received warm and genuine. The place we stayed was well equipped, comfortable and there were some lovely touches that added to the pleasure of staying there. I would certainly use Sykes Cottages again and have already recommended it to friends.

I can honstely say it was in a perfect central location to explore ironbridge itself and surrounding areas. Sarah who owns the apartment was very warm and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. The apartment is well equipped, comfy and spotlessly clean. My partner and I have had an amazing child free mini break and we will definitely be back. I would recommend greys cafe down stairs owned and ran by sarah the sandwiches are lovely!

  • "Spent a week in this dog friendly split level house."

The property scores high for location and comfort. You are right in the heart of Ironbridge and all the attractions of the World Heritage Site are within easy walking/driving distance. The famous Ironbridge is literally 2 mins walk from the front door. As previously reviews have mentioned the owner works in the shop below and is always at hand should you need any assistance. Access to the property is off street and parking is not easy and at peak times you may well be parked a bit away from the property due to there being double yellow lines on both sides of the road outside the property. (There is a small pay and display carpark in an adjoining street about 150 yards away) Elderly or infirm may struggle with the stairs as you need to climb two flights to get to the main accommodation. The bathroom is on the first floor with the kitchen, lounge and bedroom all on the top floor. The kitchen is well appointed with all you need for your everyday cooking needs. The bedroom has a lovely comfortable king size bed and is at the front of the property looking on to the main street. There are a few pubs and restaurants close by so you may suffer noise from these late at night, especially at the weekend. The blind in the bedroom is not blackout and lets in a fair amount of natural daylight. I found the internet signal to be rather poor and this may be due to the connection being shared with the business premises downstairs and this provided difficulty in using the internet and using the streaming services available via the TV. Ironbridge is such a great place to visit and if you want all the attractions close at hand then this property will certainly deliver this.

  • "This apartment is a little gem right the heart of Ironbridge ."

from the back window of the apartments you're able to see Ironbridge , also the river. The apartment has all of the restaurants and shops on its doorstep as well as within 3 minutes on to beautiful walking paths which takes you to the museums. The only downside is that it has sharp stairs within the apartment if you have knee problems or overweight it may be an issue. The apartment has a home to home environment from washer dryer to microwave everything that you may wish to have in the kitchen to make a sophisticated meal is there. It also has the added bonus of Wi-Fi and Netflix. The bathroom is large and dairy that seems to be recently renovated to a high standard. I would thoroughly recommend this apartments.

  • "Ideal location for exploring Ironbridge and beyond."

Locals very friendly, good variety of shops, cafes etc. The people overseeing the repairs to the bridge are very knowledgeable. There's also a lovely park which is great for children. All in all a fabulous place for a family holiday.

  • "Perfect location for my wife, son(8) and myself."

Right in centre of Ironbridge to enjoy town. Whilst busy nightlife didn't have any effect on our evenings. Shops, pubs walks right on your doorstep. Added benefit of owner of accomodation working downstairs, very helpful and willing to do anything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

About the location

IRONBRIDGE

Telford 6 miles; Bridgnorth 8.5 miles; Shrewsbury 15 miles.

Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties. Ironbridge is a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful county of Shropshire.
