The property

Settled in the historical village of Ironbridge in Shropshire, overlooking the River Severn, rests this delightful detached cottage, 32 Church Hill.

Enjoying central location, just paces away from iconic attractions and countryside pubs, this charming cottage is ideal for both family and friends.

Park up outside on the road, where you can move your luggage inside with ease and admire the view down to the river.

Enter the compact kitchen area, with a feature fireplace and pale grey cupboards, here the chef of the group can use the gas cooker to rustle up treats.

Stepping through your holiday home, discover the bright sitting room, here a crackling woodburning stove takes centre stage; kick back and unwind on the sofa in front of the large TV.

When dinner is ready, settle down at the elegant dining table and be sure to uncork a bottle of wine to toast to your occasion.

Climb upstairs to choose between a king-size double and a single, both offering views of the gorge below.

Why not indulge in a bubble bath in the family bathroom or perhaps rinse off in the overhead shower to freshen up?

In the morning, pop the kettle on and relish the calming surroundings in the rear court yard as you ponder the excitement of the day ahead.

A scenic stroll will lead you to the Industrial landmark of the Iron Bridge and you can brush up on your history at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust.

Jump in the car to visit the nearby town of Telford, where you can soak in the sights on the Telford Steam Railway, enjoy a picnic at Chelsea Gardens and marvel at the wildlife at the Exotic Zoo.

Settled within the loop of the River Severn is the country town of Shrewsbury, home to a Redstone castle, an 18th century prison, and Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery to unveil the past.

About the location

Telford 6 miles; Bridgnorth 8.5 miles; Shrewsbury 15 miles.

Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties. Ironbridge is a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful county of Shropshire.
