  • "An extremely well appointed property which was spotlessly clean."

The cottage is well located, only a 2 minute walk to the centre of Ironbridge. The host was very keen to ensure that we were happy with the accommodation. The bottle of wine on arrival was a welcome surprise.

  • "The Lookout is the perfect base for getting to know the Ironbridge area."

It's a lovely cottage - very comfortable and well equipped, and in a great position. We enjoyed spending time in the cottage - and also sitting in the garden at the back or watching the world go by from the bench at the front. It's very handy for the shops, bars and restaurants of Ironbridge as well as for getting to the nearby museums - we took out the annual pass for the 10 museums. The parking permit worked very well - we used the car park at the Museum of the Gorge. As you'll be aware from the description, staying there can involve using steep paths (although some of the routes are gentler/longer - but we found them all fine! Highly recommended.

  • "A delightful and comfortable cottage that is tucked away amongst other cottages and trees."

It is up a steep slope, but you are unaware of the traffic on the main street which is only 50 yards away and you can just hear the incredible birdsong! There are many walks along the gorge with amazing views and many cafes and restaurants to choose from in Ironbridge to watch the world go by. A lovely base to come back and relax in after exploring the beautiful countryside, would definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely little cottage."

The owner had gone to a lot of trouble to make sure everything possible was provided and info on how to operate heating and the appliances. We enjoyed our stay. Central to the town although up a steep bank. Very useful to have the parking permit.

Because of current uncertainty and to avoid travel we chose to stay at The Lookout, and really enjoyed it. We know how much the area has to offer, more so when the attractions open. The cottage was clean ,well equipped and in a handy location. We would stay there again.

  • "This pretty little cottage far exceeded our expectations!"

It really is beautiful and set in a gorgeous setting in Ironbridge. The cottage itself has everything you could need. The kitchen is stunning with fridge and freezer, a fabulous washer dryer and every type of utensil you could ever need. The bathroom is lovely and so roomy with a superb bath/shower. The bedroom is huge with a delightful bed and plenty of storage space. The living room is so comfortable with a lovely fire and smashing television. A huge thank you should go to the owner who left thoughtful extras, including a fresh pint of milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine with crisps and biscuits. The was also a very nice bathroom gift too. Perhaps the best gift of all was the unexpected free cark parking badge. This saved our legs not end and also saved us a small fortune in parking fees. I would recommend this stunning cottage to anyone who wishes to visit Ironbridge...however, I would recommend that anyone doing so, should park on the lower car park in the town and then walk up the almost secretive alleyway in the high street, up to the cottage. It is a bit of a steep climb so perhaps not recommendable to those with disabilities or difficulty in walking. Once at the home, you are in for a wonderful time with magnificent views.

  • "The Lookout is a delightful cottage that is roomy and very well laid out."

Its position is perfect, just above the river road, but an easy uphill walk. The furnishings and fittings are very good, with everything necessary provided. We visited 2 of the local museums, the Victorian Town and the Tile Museum - both are excellent with enthusiastic and engaging staff. Much Wenlock is less than 10 mins drive away, an interesting small town with a fascinating history (eg birthplace of the modern olympic games). The cottage and the town of Ironbridge are are highly recommended base for exploring the local area.

Great views from the cottage down onto the Main Street of Ironbridge below . Cottage is situated high so not for the light hearted frightened of walking the slopes down to the beautiful views below but worth the effort when you do. Friendly neighbours willing to chat and update on Ironbridge.

Close to centre of Ironbridge. Definitely not for the infirm though as steep steps down to door but it was perfect for us.
