  • "This is our third stay in a year at this apartment, need we say any more about how good it is!"

The location, facilities and access to all that Ironbridge, and the surrounding area has to offer are perfect. We are already looking to book again for later in the year, highly recommended.

Thanks for the lovely review Shona! We're glad you enjoy your stays and certainly agree that the surrounding area has a lot to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back again for another stay! Property Owner

  • "This property has a lot to recommend it - the position close to restaurants and pubs for example."

We really enjoyed staying there, there's plenty of room for two, there's a good size bedroom with plenty of storage space and a good bathroom with rain shower and space for you to put things.. However our first view of the property was not welcoming, there was no heating on and it was bitterly cold, taking a long time to warm up. I've downgraded on cleanliness because the oven wasn't very clean, nor were some of the utensils and the freezer hadn't been defrosted in a long time. There is a safety issue too with the uneven step into the property - it really needs a light outside activated by movement so that when you step out in darkness you can do so safely. Having said that, we really did enjoy our stay and would happily recommend it to anyone who asked.

Thank you for your review Glynis, we apologize that the heating wasnt turned on for your arrival. Since your stay we have changed our cleaners and recently passed a Sykes inspection which demonstrated that our new cleaners have improved the cleanliness of the property. There is an external light directly above the front door with a switch just inside and we will look to switch this to a motion sensor. Were glad you enjoyed your stay and would recommend the property to others. Property Owner

  • "Fridge freezer turned out to be a small larder fridge with a very small ice box, frosted badly."

Bedding and towels smelt horrible, presumably some laundry additive, really overpowering. Had to resort to the spare bedding, thankfully unperfumed. We aired the towels by open French doors, but they still smelt bad after a week. Shower cubicle really grungy around the bottom of the doors, and a trim panel around the front fell off every time the shower was used. The skimpy bath may provided was woefully inadequate. A curved shower cubicle requires a curved mat, preferably properly absorbent. Overall the apartment was well equipped, but it was a pity that it didn't live up to the advert you published.

Thank you Janice. We apologize for the cleanliness of the shower and the smell of the laundry during your stay. This has been a one-off incident from our previous cleaners and a recent inspection by Sykes has confirmed that the new cleaners have resolved this. The shower trim has also been fixed. Were glad that you found the apartment well equipped Property Owner

Nice apts clean good views wouldn’t be suitable for people with walking difficulties due to steep hills we had a lovely few days away ironbridge is a great place lovely walks

Thank you Sylvia! We're glad you enjoyed the views and found the apartment to be clean. Whilst the gorge has beautiful views with the steep hills coming up from the river, we agree that anyone with walking difficulties would struggle to get around the area Property Owner

  • "A beautiful location with lovely views over the Ironbridge gorge."

Be aware it is on a steep hill. The flat is open plan and kitchen well stocked but it’s a short walk to many restaurants and pubs so we didn’t do much cooking. More detailed listings of what was available- such as whether an iron/hairdryer is provided would be helpful (they were) . They were but this wasn’t in property detail.

Thank you for your review Rosalind! We're glad you found the apartment to be well stocked and agree that with all the restaurants within walking distance, you don't need to cook during your stay. We've updated the listings with the more recent additions based on your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Really great little flat right in the heart of Ironbridge."

Great for the pubs and restaurants and you can walk to the museums from here. The roads in the village are really steep and fairly narrow so you may have to park a bit away from the property. We loved it and would definitely stay there again if visiting.

Stunning views of the surrounding area including the bridge itself. Very beautiful area. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Modern furnishings and well looked after. Parking is on the hill in an adjacent street-no parking attached to the property so just be aware of that as the hill is quite steep. We had a lovely weekend here. Thank you very much.

The owner was very accomodating and quick to offer great service when we needed it. Would definitely visit again.

  • "Clean, well furnished accommodation, beautiful views."

The church clock chimes the quarters and the hour, in spite of our closeness this didn't detract from the location. As an older couple we found the bed to be a little too low and mattress too soft, but this probably wouldn't bother younger visitors. Visitors need to be aware of the steep narrow roads and limited parking but we managed to find a space on the adjacent road most days.

  • "Comfortable, well furnished apartment in a great central location for exploring Ironbridge and the surrounding areas."

I was worried about parking but this turned out to be no problem as I was always able to find a space nearby.

  • "Well equipped apartment in a fantastic location with views across the gorge and down to the iron bridge."

Local roads steep and narrow but we managed fine and had no trouble finding parking; you might not want to bring a van or large SUV. I had to contact the owner to find bedding for the sofa bed and he couldn't have been more helpful. The mattress is very soft but the sofa bed is far more comfortable. Ace shower. I'd definitely book it again and may well do so as we only managed to visit about half the places we wanted to go to around Ironbridge in four days.

  • "The Old Armoury is a lovely modern open plan apartment in an ideal location."

It is well equipped and has a modern kitchen and bathroom. The lounge area looks down on the Iron Bridge and has a beautiful view across the valley. It is an ideal base for exploring the area. There are several routes to walk down the hill into the centre of Ironbridge which has an interesting range of shops and cafes along the main road as well as the Iron Bridge itself. There is lots to see and do and the museums are very interesting and worth visiting. We'd recommend purchasing the passport ticket which gives entry into all 10 museums which saves a bundle on the entry fees of the museums and is valid for a year. There are also lots of lovely walks and trails to explore the local countryside. Parking on Church Hill can be a bit tricky but we always found a space somewhere. We had a great week and enjoyed our stay in the Old Armoury.

Our apartment was very smart and comfortable with great views across the gorge and the bridge. It’s also well situated with just a short walk to lovely pubs and restaurants. It should be noted it’s up a pretty steep hill or alternatively 120 steps up via the church Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Thanks.

  • "The flat was so comfortable and warm and we looked forward to relaxing there after our busy days out."

The view across the Gorge was off the scale and we couldn’t get enough of it. We had been concerned about the parking situation but soon found it wasn’t a problem. The bed was really comfortable (though a lighter duvet might be needed for the summer). A decent set of mugs would have been nice instead of the selection of odd mugs and we didn’t fancy using the plastic mugs. Also there seemed to be only one wine glass though plenty for Prosecco and champagne! But these are small things and we count the weeks holiday as one of the best we’ve ever had. The flat was so accessible for Ironbridge which was what we came to see. We have recommended it to loads of people and shared lots of photos. Thank you very much.

  • "Do not follow Sat Nav instructions to The Old Armoury as it will take you up the other end of the road which is too narrow to go up and extremely difficult to reverse down and turn around."

Parking is an issue as the road is too narrow to park on so you need to park on nearby road which is quite steep. Property is lovely with great views over Ironbridge. Ironbridge itself is quite hilly so you need to be fairly fit to walk around. Lots of museums and National Trust properties nearby.

  • "Very good, clean, warm and comfortable."

Very close to the Bridge and Museums. Good view from the apartment. However, If you are used to a firm bed, the bed is comfortable but very soft and low. Also, The Armoury is up a narrow steep hill and parking is not easy so being of mature years we found a reliable, reasonably priced taxi company to take us to the local Museums.
