  • "Cleanest and best maintained holiday rental that I have ever had through Sykes."

Superbly positioned for the huge range of attractions in the Ironbridge area.

Thank you for your kind comments Lee - it was lovely to meet you and all your family. Glad you were able to get out and about despite the weather not being the best!! As you say we are in a good position to visit a lot of local attractions which is always a plus with bad weather too. The property was left in a really good clean condition and this was much appreciated. Property Owner

The facilities are great and we had everything we needed to accommodate us and two young kids. The house has a fantastic living area, fully fitted kitchen, plenty of bedding and towels and secure access with security gate. The location is close to some lovely muddy walks, pubs and local grocery shops, as well as the children's activity venues. Can't thank the hosts enough, it was a wonderful stay

We received a very warm welcome. The owners have thought of everything, the extra touches are excellent. The home is very comfortable indeed, with high quality bedding and well furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped indeed. Plenty of towels were supplied. The house is in a secluded, quiet setting, within walking distance to the shops, and perfectly placed to enjoy all the museums associated with the Ironbridge Gorge. We'd happily return to Glen Helen, it really is a home from home.

Lovely quiet location yet not too rural. The little extras the owners left were exceptional and the cleanliness of the cottage was amazing. Ironbridge is a stone's throw away with all its attractions. Highly recommendable. Thank you Maureen and Keith.

Kick off your shoes and unwind with a moment of peace in front of the television in the charming sitting room as the glow of the electric fire gently fills the room.

When stomachs start to rumble, make your way through to the well-equipped kitchen to rustle up some tasty treats, where you'll find an array of essential amenities, including an electric oven and hob as well as a handy washing machine to freshen up your holiday attire.

Uncork a bottle of wine and gather together with your loved ones at the nearby dining table to indulge in the fruits of your labor, or make mealtimes an alfresco affair and head outdoors for a peaceful seat amongst the greenery of the garden.

As the evening grows darker, retreat indoors and climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find three well-presented bedrooms, with two sumptuous doubles nestled alongside an intimate single, each providing ample storage to unpack your belongings and make yourself at home.

In the morning, indulge in a leisurely soak amongst the bubbles in the elegant family bathroom before heading downstairs to join your guests in the bright and airy conservatory, where you can soak in the garden views as you indulge in a steaming cup of coffee.

When you don't feel like cooking, take the short stroll into the heart of Madeley to find a delicious selection of eateries to choose from, including authentic Indian cuisine at Kashmir Cafe, or enjoy a spot of traditional pub grub at the Foresters Arms.

Whilst you're in the area, be sure to visit the open-air museum at Blists Hill Victorian Town, where you can immerse yourself in life of the Victorian-era in a restored 19th-century village, or stroll along the banks of the River Severn to discover the iconic landmark of The Iron Bridge, the worlds first cast-iron bridge, dating back to 1781.

Be sure to pack your clubs and head to the golf course at the Telford Hotel to practice your swing, or venture further afield and tour the extensive grounds of the 16th century country house at Benthall Hall, now preserved by the National Trust.

Younger guests may enjoy a day out to the nearby town of Telford, where you can come face-to-face with life-size dinosaurs and cute farm animals at the Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World, or if that's not your thing, board a heritage steam train at Telford Steam Railway and journey through the surrounding countryside.
