  • "We have stayed in many great properties over the years but Wash House Cottage is at the top."

Sharing a property site with an owner could be problematic but not here, you have your own charming entry and property is self contained, owner is very welcoming but discreet. The cottage is lovely, renovated to a high standard and very clean. Felt very comfortable with our dog. Located in the centre of Much Wenlock you are close to everything you need and lots of local produce and the friendly locals make it very special -- highly recommended.

Not only was it very clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and peaceful it is only a stone’s throw from the delightful and characterful town centre and a superb base from which to explore that part of Shropshire! We were also given a warm welcome from the owner Lyn who throughout our stay was kindness itself as well as extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable when we sought advice! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and therefore have no hesitation in highly recommending it!

Close to shops, pubs, places to eat and with access to some great walks from the door. The cottage is lovely with a sunny courtyard and two immaculate shower rooms. Nothing negative to say except an ice cube tray would have been very useful!

The bed is very comfortable, however, in hot weather the bedroom gets very very warm and the ventilator is too loud to have on at night. The cottage is not suitable for anyone who cannot cope with stairs.

Steeped in history itself and perfect for exploration Shropshire. Lyn is a wonderful hostess very helpful in every way. I hope we can return some day and would recommend it to anyone. • "We spent a most delightful week at Wash House Cottage."

Being greeted by Lyn on arrival was a joy, we get to meet very few owners normally. The cottage is in a superb location nestled just behind the Main Street of Much Wenlock, so handy for the town, yet so peaceful. The cottage itself is lovely, though the big steps into the kitchen and out of the back door could be challenging for the less mobile. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need, the heating system is easy to handle and efficient. The showers, yes two, are of good size with good water pressure. The beds are comfortable as was the seating in the lounge. We had a wonderful time and with the beautiful weather were able to come home on an afternoon and sit out in the sunshine. We visited Ludlow, Bridgend and Shrewsbury all fairly close by, this cottage is so well placed to explore the area. Ironbridge was fantastic with so much more to explore given enough time. It just means we’ll have to return to finish off our adventure! All in all a perfect cottage in a beautiful market town, I’m so glad I chose this one.

It's a delightful property - a little quirky, having been (as the name implies) created from the original Wash House. It's clean, comfortable and well provisioned. And of course, so well located - all that the pleasant town of Much Wenlock has to offer is within a few minutes walk, and there's plenty of great walks that you can start from the front door. Lyn was a very pleasant host, meeting us to hand over the keys, show us round, explain things like the recycling and how to work the heating. We plan to return!

Although Lynn does have a system of a bell to ring if we had needed anything else. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage was warm and cosy. Very nice to come back to after a long cold day out. The town of Much Wenlock is lovely and the people are friendly. Enough facilities if you didn't feel the need to venture far but the area of Shropshire has so many historical and AONB to visit. , our second time visit, the problem is Sykes - a total jerk of a company; they issued a statement on the website reading 'an email will be sent to patrons on holiday in due course' (due to the covid situ. and lockdown alteration in the country), we effectively couldn't 'enjoy matters and have total relaxation' thereafter, as no communication ie 'said email' materialised.. Very poor show from Sykes, the management must only be interested in the cash they're making!

You see them on a regular basis as it over looks onto their patio and their “washing”. You share the entrance and it is kept locked at all times. You pass their patio as you walk up path to Wash house. Two big steps down into dining room and then into kitchen. Several big steps up into corridor leading to lounge to the right and downstairs shower room to left. Tight split turn staircase up to bedroom and upstairs shower room. Both these rooms have one velux type window each the rooms do get very hot in warm weather. Did not have potato peeler or clothes pegs despite washing machine and outdoor washing line. being pointed out to us. Private patio with chairs accessed by two big steps from kitchen. Bed was very comfy as super king size. TV in bedroom. Hot water is plentiful and very hot. Fridge is only larder fridge and no freezer so couldn’t have ice cubes etc. Or use freezer blocks for return journey home. It is very convenient for the centre of town. Great walks for dogs nearby. Lots of National Trust properties to visit within reasonable drive. Bridgnorth and Ludlow wonderful places to visit. The owners kindly left a loaf a jar of marmalade and 6 eggs when we arrived. Parking bay at front of owners house was allocated for our stay. Not sure if suitable for people with mobility issues because of steps/ staircase. One well behaved dog allowed. Would definitely consider staying again if wanting to visit the area Much Wenlock is a pretty historic small town.
