  • "Stunning property located in the heart of Warwick."

Quirky house with parking for 1 vehicle outside in permit area W2 and a small car in the garage. The other 2 vehicles were parked at Sainsbury's as only £14 for the weekend . FRIDAY - SUNDAY. Spotlessly clean and well looked after. Seating in the lounge was a bit wierd as it went round the corner but we pulled some chairs in from the dining room and used those as there were 8 of us. All utensils were available in the kitchen. Tea towels, washing up liquid. Loo rolls.. maybe a couple more bin liners as we decided as the house was so lovely to eat and drink in the evening instead of going out... lots of restaurants on the doorstep and available on uber eats. Highly recommended for something different in a beautiful town. Stratford upon Avon on the doorstep .. perfect weekend retreat wish we had booked Sunday evening to. What would be perfect is a hot tub on one of the balconies... now that would have been something with the view of the castle. Thank you Peter for sharing your lovely house.

We were 2 families with children so had a level each for sleeping/showering which was ideal. The loft was very warm but we were in the middle of a heat wave, so every where was. Fans were provided to make the heat more bearable. Beds very comfortable, plenty of towels & bedding. We didn’t really use the balconies as it was too warm and they could have done with a bit of a sweep. Location ideal. Literally come out of the house, cross the road & your at the entrance for Warwick castle. Ideal base for exploring nearby Stratford up on Avon, Leamington Spa & Hatton Country Park. We were worried about getting our car in the garage but we managed to squeeze it in. (We have a Kia Sportage). Peter (the owner) was very helpful before & during our stay. A few minutes walk into Warwick centre with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Bedroom configuration was fine for 3 couples. First floor has 2 bedrooms 1 with en-suite, 1 with separate bathroom. The top floor is a quirky layout with large super king bed and a 2nd bedroom with a heavy curtain across which has the en-suite so would suit a family upstairs but not 2 separate couples unless you walk through a bedroom or use the family bathroom on the 1st floor. Kitchen not large but seemed well equipped, we only ate in for breakfast so not a problem. Garage fitted our Qashqai in no problem. The owner contacted us a few days before with information which was helpful. In all we had a fabulous stay at Castle view and would return if ever back in Warwick. Thank you

Everything worked as expected. Beds are very comfy, plenty of hot water and heating. Very secure. Particularly liked to electronic lock rather than having to use a key.The garage is small as detailed in the holiday listing and we couldn't fit our Qashqai in, although maybe with more juggling we could have. The garage is a wedge shape and therefore narrower than it looks from the outside. Parking outside was never a problem for us though. Very nice view and light from the top floor which would make a lovely living area. The only downside for us was the furniture in the living area which wasn't the quality I expected. The cushions were lumpy and the footstool stained. The owner sent a pre-arrival text message with info which I thought was a nice touch.

It is so close to the lovely Warwick Castle main entrance but remains quiet and uncrowded. It is really convenient for the restaurants and sights of the town centre, such as Lord Leycester Hospital, as well as having really easy to access other places in nearby Stratford, Kenilworth; Leamington Spa, and the countryside. Castle View is a fascinating house with lots of daylight, and an enclosed orangerie with seating and plants. It has a well-preserved ancient stone wall running along the back of the orangerie and living room at ground level. Our party of 5 people had loads of room here, and with 2 other regular family visitors during our week, we had enough space, including outside on the 2 balconies to enjoy the evenings in comfy chairs. We were able to park 1 car in the garage and another right outside, with the free parking ticket included. Ideal for a family get-together, such as we had there. Sykes kept us well-informed throughout, including COVID precaution updates, account due dates, and how to access the site re keys and parking permits.

The house is spectacular with fabulous views of Warwick castle and walking distance to the town centre, Lots of lovely terraces to enjoy the sunshine as well as the orangery to relax in. The kitchen was small but very well equipped. The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds and sumptuous duvets. Bathrooms were clean with lots of towels for guest use. The owner Peter was very friendly and efficient on text as he was unable to meet us due to Covid restrictions. He mentioned that he usually left a “welcome pack” but for some reason was unable to do that for us. The only negative for me as a female is the lack of dressing tables with mirrors and sockets. It’s a constant criticism even in some hotel rooms and I usually put it down to the fact that it’s been furnished by men!! Just a small table or even a shelf with mirror and socket would be great! Despite that small niggle, We would definitely recommend Castle View as a wonderful place to stay and explore the beautiful area.

We knew there was no garden but we found the outdoor space larger than anticipated. We found all the fixtures, fittings, linen & towels etc to be immaculately clean and there was ample provision of cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery. Electrical items all seemed to work in accordance with the instructions. Prior to our holiday, it was clear that Peter wished us to enjoy our time in the house and he proved very helpful and understanding on the couple of occasions that we checked details with him by telephone. We enjoyed exploring the town of Warwick and found good places to enjoy a drink in the open air or to take home a takeaway meal. The garage was large enough for the Ford C-Max but too short for the Mercedes C-Class estate but there was always street space nearby to use the permit. We have come away with happy memories of a very special place for a family gathering.

I had been a bit uncertain of the curtained and screened bedrooms, with regard to privacy, but they were well separated so privacy was not an issue. The property is in an excellent location, right outside Warwick Castle and walking distance of the town itself. Stratford upon Avon and several National Trust properties are nearby, so plenty to do. ! This property is really stunning - we enjoyed lovely weather on our visit, and whilst it was a bit chilly, we still made use of the balcony. Our host - Peter, was exceptional, met us on arrival to show us around the property and explain things like the heating controls, upstairs lighting and parking. He has also very helpfully made contact with me in advance to advise on parking. We used the garage - which is small but fit one vehicle as promised, we used the permit just outside the property and manged to get parking in the pay and display very close by - it was sensibly priced with the whole weekend Fri-Mon costing around £15/16 This was in March. The house has any utensil and baking tray you need, and there was a lovely cake and some basics for us to enjoy on our arrival. We knew that the property was near to the castle, but we seriously underestimated how close! Brilliantly placed for the town too with plentiful options right on the doorstep. The town itself really caters for tourists too, the local Indian restaurant provided us with menus so that we could browse at our leisure ahead of our evening booking - and it was super tasty, although I've completely forgotten the name of it! Also, the tea shop just around the corner is very cosy and comfortable.

Peter the owner was very accommodating and met us on arrival for a full tour and he was on call if needed throughout the three night stay. All of us agreed we would go back to visit again as the terrible rain on the Saturday didn’t allow us to appreciate Warwick. Our only issue with the property was the bedroom at the top of the house has very thin blinds which didn’t stop the morning sun shining through (which wouldn’t be a problem if we hadn’t gone to bed late!), eye masks would solve this quickly. Some provisions were left for us too which was a nice touch (tea, coffee, bread, milk, eggs). The house is really clean. It’s right on the doorstep of the castle (literally a 1 minute walk) and very close to the town centre. The house is beautifully decorated and the photos on the website are accurate although the house feels much more spacious. We took a toddler, while it was all ok and there was plenty of room, the stairs are quite steep. We should have taken stair gates for peace of mind. We also needed to take our own high chair and travel cot. The parking was also fine- a medium sized car in the garage and space on the road outside. We had to park a few metres down the road initially but Peter the owner very kindly helped us unload (we were juggling a grumpy toddler and a 5year old). There aren’t many houses that sleep 8 in the area and we were very lucky that this was such a gem. I would highly recommend it.

When the sun disappeared from here, we moved to the second floor to catch more sunshine on the second floor balcony....really lovely. Peter could not have been more welcoming...quickly showed us round and pointed out key features and little details we might not have worked out for ourselves.
