  • "It really is a fantastic cottage."

What we really loved was the attention to the small details of what we may need. Flashlights, a warm house when we arrived, spare umbrella, nightlights, and it was done up for Christmas, puppy treats, poo bags. It was also the cleanest cottage that I have stayed in. Highly recommended. Take Wellies.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We're so glad you loved the cottage and enjoyed the atmosphere and cleanliness. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A very charming cottage in a good area."

Very clean and well presented with a decent amount of things you may need. Good walking from the door. The wood burner was excellent and we found it was very efficient in providing heat throughout the downstairs. (note there are also wall heaters throughout the cottage, the wood burner is a nice bonus, not really needed until late autumn and winter) Good location and pub nearby was usefull.

  • "The property is really lovely and well equipped and clean."

The directions are great, as are the suggestions for things to do. Could be very cosy. We arrived 4pm Sunday evening and checked out early Tuesday and sadly most of the things we wanted to see and do, including some shops etc, are closed until Wednesday. There was no heating on when we arrived and the cottage was very very cold for the first 18 hrs until the night storage heaters came on. I did receive a note from Ken saying put the aga on but didn't get it till the second day. Not enough wood in the basket to keep the log burner going all evening, very hungry for wood, and a suggestion that more could be purchased locally. In the pictures it shows a huge log pile in the lounge which isn't there anymore. Not a helpful suggestion when staying for two nights and without heating from a 4pm check in on a Sunday. The late check in and early check out gave us only a day and a half at the cottage and for the amount we paid, £556, we were disappointed at this. Things which we noticed about the property are that the shower cubicle is tiny and restrictive, although there is a huge bath taking up half of the room, there is no area/shelf to put down toiletries for use in the bathroom within reach. In most places I have stayed there is also some complimentary shower gel or soap etc. Non here. There isn't a useful mirror in the double bedroom. In the kitchen all the bowls and dishes for use are tucked into a corner cupboard which you cannot open unless you open the washing machine cupboard door first. Not easy access for these things as a small gap. Hope this is helpful feedback

  • "Lovely comfortable and warm cottage."

Well equipped for both humans and dogs! A real bonus having a fully enclosed rear garden. Plenty of walks locally and a field opposite the church where dogs can run off lead. Excellent location for a visit to the Cotswolds. Village pub food very good and can also recommend The Red Lion at Long Compton. Our second visit and I expect we shall visit again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that your stay was as good as your first and we already look forward to welcoming you back again! Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

Lots of useful information given by the owner which we took full advantage of. Back garden is secure for dogs but the front garden would benefit from a fence between cottage and next door. The village was idyllic and we enjoyed walks directly from the cottage. We will definitely be back.

  • "Lovely cottage, but as informed the stairs being as old as cottage and wood, and the top stair is pointing downwards so giving a strange feeling as you step up or down."

A thought would be to fit anti-slip grit tape that wouldn't detract if fitted, to the overall aesthetics of the cottage but that's my opinion.but otherwise a perfect stay in a pretty village in the peaceful Cotswolds countryside. Regards Pete Linsell

We couldn't have asked for anything more or better, they have gone out of your way to include absolutely everything we needed and more in a home from home holiday, even putting information about the area for walks and amenities. Would and already have recommended this cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage in a lovely village."

Spotlessly clean and super comfy beds. Only criticism is the stairs, they are steep which is not a problem but they are very slippy. Enclosed back garden a real bonus as we had a dog with us and we could safely let him spend time outside. Good quality pub opposite the cottage, but you do need to book. Another bonus for us was an enclosed paddock close by where you can let your dog off the lead. Will definitely visit again.

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear that both yourselves and your dog had a lovely time away. The properties listing does state that the stairs are steep, but please contact us if you require any further information in the future. We look forward to welcoming you again one day soon! • "Lovely cottage in a good location."

Lovely kitchen and very well equipped. It was really useful to have the outside sink for washing the dog down after going for some nice walks, unfortunately the weather was not kind to us, it rained pretty much all the time during our week's stay - we certainly had good use of our waterproofs and wellingtons. Would have been useful to have a dustpan and brush, a razor point in the bathroom and a larger mirror in the main bedroom. Also we found that all the kitchen cupboards were full with equipment, so no where much to store your groceries. Thank you for a nice stay, and for preparing the cottage so nicely.

  • "The cottage is beautiful."

It completely overwhelmed us when we went inside. It was exactly like the pictures. The owners Ken and Gill have equipped it to a very high standard. It was our home for a week. They have thought of everything. I would recommend this cottage and the village which is a great base to see various places in the area. A must when you arrive is the straw kitchen by whichford pottery plus the Norman Knight for food. We went to Broadway and walked to the tower, we visited Oxford, we walked to long Compton and had a meal st the red lion. We went to Bourton on the water and Stow on the Wold, we saw lovely local villages like Burford and a town Banbury. All in all it was an amazing relaxing holiday and would definitely come back to this cottage if we could.

Ken and Gill would love to welcome you back in the future. We are pleased to hear you were able to visit so much of the Cotswolds during your amazing holiday, Many Thanks Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous holiday cottage in beautiful location."

The sun in the from garden in the evenings with a glass of wine is absolutely perfect. Cottage is right by the village green and a pub literally on the doorstep. However, unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, we could not try out the pub as it only opens Friday to Sunday and they were fully booked when we enquired. Instead we ate at The Sun Inn in Hook Norton ( a 10 min drive away) which we can recommend. At the moment, limited local tourist attractions are open (Whichford Pottery is closed and Cotswold Distillery only has their shop open). So we took full advantage of the walk recommendations by the owners and had some lovely dog walks in the local countryside. There are also some great cycle rides in the local area. All in all, would definitely recommend the cottage and would return!!

Thank you for the local information on places to eat and the local tourist attractions. We would love for you to return in the future. Property Owner

It a beautiful cottage in a lovely little village, with everything you could need. The local pub is really nice and welcoming. The food is amazing. They even have a wood fired pizza van in the car park on a Monday evening when they don't do food. Our only concern is the stairs as they are a little uneven which could bit a little difficult for older people, but shouldn't put people off as long as you are careful.

Nice to have welcomed you back for a second time. We take on-board your feedback, and will update our website in relation to the stairs. Property Owner
