  • "The owners should be commended for creating a beautiful annexe."

They have clearly put a lot of thought in to making it a lovely place to stay with all modern conveniences provided. Three smart TV's, under floor heating and a space age shower. The bed is very comfortable. The best the Cotswolds has to offer are all in close proximity and the pub literally across the road does very good food and great beer.

It certainly has the "Wow" factor when you walk in. It's so light and airy, warm and comfortable and everything is extremely neat and clean. Julie and her family live next door and are very friendly and helpful. They have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, and the cottage is very central making it easy to visit a lot of the National Trust houses and the lovely Cotswold villages in the area. Would definitely recommend a holiday here and we hope to return soon. Superb welcome hamper was much appreciated too! Thank you.

A superb welcome hamper that covered most of the week. The space age shower needed explaining and was swiftly explained by the owners who live next door, they also queried mobility issues which were not a problem in this superbly appointed accommodation. We both agreed that if we had to return to the area this was where we would book again. A huge thank you to the owners.

  • "A really enjoyable stay at the Belfry, which is very well appointed and well managed by Julie and Roddie, the owners."

They give good friendly advice about all manner of things, and provide a well stocked welcome pack of essential goodies. The Ivy, just over the road, is also a friendly establishment with good food. We visited NT properties at Hidcote Manor, great gardens, and Snowshill, which contains an extraordinary collection of items amassed by Charles Wade in his travels. A short walk down the footpath adjacent to the Belfry leads you to the NT Great Tithe Barn, very impressive. Stratford Butterfly Farm is delightful, and The Valley Shopping area at Evesham provides some good therapy, with many cafes. All in all, a lovely holiday!

A perfect romantic retreat for a couple wishing to explore the surrounding market towns and nearby Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

You are welcomed to the property with a sought-after off-road parking spot on the owner’s drive, before stepping into the sitting room which is an inviting place to relax at the end of a long day as you flick on the Smart TV.

Moving through the property there is a kitchen/diner, with a romantic dining table for two and well-equipped kitchen facilities so you can cook up a storm whilst still enjoying some of your favourite shows on the Smart TV.

Head out the patio doors to take advantage of the enclosed garden, where you can enjoy some al fresco dining or a bottle of wine under the stars.

When it’s time to retire, head to your double bedroom to rejuvenate for another lovely day, and when it's time to get ready in the morning, do it in style with the spa shower.

The Belfry is just a short walk away from the local village pub which serves food and drink, making for a great evening out, alternatively if you're looking for a daytime stroll, explore the 13th century Middle Littleton Tithe Barn which is a National Trust property, and one of the largest and finest tithe barns in the country.

If you need some self-catering essentials, take a short drive to the shop in Middle Littleton, or travel slightly further to the market town of Evesham where there is a larger selection of pubs and eateries, alongside the River Avon.

Also in Evesham you can watch the boats at the marina, take a romantic stroll round Abbey Park, visit the historic Bell Tower, discover the Almonry Museum or hop on board the Vale Light Railway which runs through the park and fruit orchards.

In the opposite direction, the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon was once the home to William Shakespeare and his birthplace and school are now a worthy visit with period furnishings, there is also a butterfly farm, a golf course, a magic shop, and a range of interesting museums.

Ten miles away lies the fantastic Stratford on Avon Racecourse, whilst a little further afield is Worcester Racecourse, making this abode perfect for those lovers of the races.

Also in the area you can spend the day in the city of Worcester, or explore the stunning Cotswolds AONB including the National Trust 20th century gardens of Hidcote which has great views and two cafes.

For a romantic trip, with plenty of walking trails, sights to see and history to discover, choose The Belfry as your base.

EVESHAM

Stratford-upon-Avon 14 miles; Worcester 16 miles; Cheltenham 17 miles.

The pretty market town of Evesham lies within the Vale of Evesham, in a horseshoe of the River Avon, within driving distance of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. Evesham and the surrounding area is famous for its market gardening and the town has an array of individual shops, tea rooms, craft and antique shops, many traditional pubs, an Art Deco cinema and thriving arts centre. Steeped in history and mentioned in the Domesday Book, Evesham has a number of beautiful black and white timbered buildings, namely the 15th century merchants house in the Market Square, and the remains of Evesham Abbey are believed to date back to the 8th century. The area offers many lovely walks with Shakespeare’s Avon Way, Wychavon Way and The Heart of England Way all close by. Evesham Country Park is well worth a visit with an extensive garden centre, well-stocked farm shop, courtyard shops and restaurant, as well as a 130-acre estate criss-crossed with walks, or take a stroll up Bredon Hill home to an Iron Age Fort, Roman ramparts and numerous old standing stones all within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearby spa town of Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age, attracting plenty of visitors with its antique and craft fairs and auctions throughout the year, and the ancient cathedral city of Worcester, birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar is also close by.
