  • "House is in a great location, around a 10 min walk to town, 5 mins from the canal for lovely walks."

Parking permit was an added bonus, no problem in parking at all, House is in a quiet area. Garden was ok, its not enclosed totally as there is a low wall, but not a problem, you should be watching your dog outdoors anyway. Heating was good, plenty of hot water. Only negative from us, was the grill pan hadn't been washed and a three seater sofa would of been more comfortable for an evening in. These issues would not put us off staying again, only trivial.

  • "The property is quite large, despite how it appears from the front, and it is very handily located to walk into town."

The bed in the main room was comfortable, but in the second room was quite hard for our tastes. There was a good shower. We did have a lovely stay but there were several downsides that could very easily be remedied to make it even better. To my mind it could be so much nicer if it were furnished and finished to a higher standard. The lounge chairs are very uncomfortable and the dining table and chairs are not matching and feel very rickety. It needs nets and curtains everywhere to make it feel more private and cosy. There was only a small hanging rack in each bedroom, with no dressing table and nowhere in the bathroom to put toiletries and make-up. Only the mirror in the single bedroom was next to a socket for the hairdryer. There was no mention in the description that there is a cellar, or that there are changes of level on both the ground and first floors, which for me made it harder to get around. The fridge-freezer is very oddly positioned under the stairs at the top of the flight down to the cellar, surrounding by cleaning equipment, and with the doors opening the 'wrong' way so it was hard to access. The property says it is dog-friendly but I think they were only expecting a small dog as the bed and bowls left were tiny and our Labrador could easily have escaped from the garden if we had let her off the lead. In addition, the property was not as clean as I would like and we had to do a lot ourselves. The kitchen tap dripped constantly. I also would have liked more than one parking permit as we had to juggle cars in and out of other parking places that were expensive and/or restrictive on hours.

  • "Lovely modern cottage with plenty of room in an excellent location."

Easy parking at the front in a very quiet area. 10 minute walk to the town centre. Kitchen fitted to a very high standard, relaxing lounge area and very comfortable beds! Walk in shower was also a big plus. The only bugbears we had that we could have done with a few more instructions on how things work, took me a while how to change the temperature of the radiators, also salt & pepper shakers were both empty and didnt know we had to bring our own? We would definitely stay here again

  • "We enjoyed the house, very spacious rooms, beds were super comfy, lovely bathroom with free standing bath, big TV with Netflix etc, but there were some maintenance issues which owner did sort out quickly, but really should have been checked before we arrived, such as 2 leaking fridges, leaking underneath the sink and the boiler had been turned off for the heating."

There could have been better storage facilities in the bedrooms, especially the master bedroom, only had hanging rails, a wardrobe would have been nicer and a dresser of some sort as no surfaces to put makeup, jewellery, combs etc, no curtains or blinds in the kitchen diner, a more modern dining room table and chairs would benfit as well, paint work was worn in areas, the house is in a good spot for town and the retail park, it just needs updating.

  • "Arthur road is located a stones throw from the town centre and the abundance of attractions, being able to park outside was a bonus."

The property itself had all the facilities you could wish for, we even completed a jigsaw on the day it rained. The cottage has a proper homely feel about it unlike many sterile places I have stayed in. I would definitely book again if I return to the area.

It is very well equipped, clean & comfortable & in a perfect position for walking into Stratford upon Avon (didn't move the car once) and plenty of walks from your door. The small enclosed garden and vicinity of the canal are perfect for letting our dog enjoy. Anytime we had a query it was answered by return. We will return again & again.

  • "The property is just lovely."

It was very clean and the personal touches of chocolates and biscuits as a present were well received. We didn't use the cooker, microwave, washing machine or dishwasher, so cannot comment on those. The garden was great for our little dog. The dog bed, blanket and dog bowls were a thoughtful addition. The shower was really good. The beds were very comfortable and the blackout blind worked a treat in the front double bedroom. My only slightly negative comment was that the chairs are not the most comfortable and a 3 seater sofa would really add to the living room for us. We would thoroughly recommend this property. It is a great location as close to the town centre so no need to move the car once parked. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Thank you for the great feedback and we're glad that the dog amenities were helpful. We are as transparent as possible regarding the furniture pictures but will certainly monitor that, We're glad you found the property clean and welcoming and thanks for the excellent scores, much appreciated. Large patches of damp stains on ceilings and plaster coming away rotten wood on windows and in bathroom No bins back or recycling some kamp bubs not working no spsres left. Fridge freezer in celler not very practical celler a real mess Looks as if the house is work in progress

Thank you for your comments.   I have made sure that the issue with the leaves at the front door doesn’t happen again and apologies for the inconvenience this caused you. Regarding the stain, I am happy to confirm there is no damp. The property had a new roof and during this roof work a leak did regrettably occur and cause a stain, the leak was of course resolved straightaway and the stain will be removed as soon as practicable. The window sill you mentioned is the external sill for the bathroom and will also get some remedial work on the exterior when I can engage a contactor for this work.  We do have a recycling bin available and this information is in the information pack at the property.  The fridge freezer is in the entrance way to the cellar and I will be looking at partitioning the cellar so that the main cellar is blocked off while still allowing guests to access the fridge freezer.  I will of course have the light bulbs checked and would have had this remedied immediately for you if I had known during your stay, thank you for letting me know.  Property Owner

Spacious lounge with smart TV, Virgin media, Netflix and Prime. Oak laminate floors down stairs, (a new experience for my dog). A couple of steps down into new very well equipped kitchen, (step needs new trim). Dinning area onto small private enclosed garden with lovely plants. Comfortable beds with quality linen, no wardrobes, just hangers/ shelves. Parking is tight, but we always managed to get a spot right outside the house. You can park 2 hrs without the permit and 24/7 with it. Just around the corner is a lovely canal walk into town. A short walk through a twitchel and your in a vast trading estate including a Tesco, M&S, B&M and Lidl, (and many more). A short drive brings you to dog walkers paradise of Clopton and adjacent Welcombe parks. Loads of restaurants, shops, markets, boat trips river walks and as much Shakespeare as you want.

  • "The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was also clean."

It was a nice gesture to be left some coffee sachets etc. for us and some dog treats The location was perfect, it was in a quiet street but only 5 minutes walk into Stratford centre. We had the choice to walk into town along the road or along the scenic canal route just around the corner. It was a bonus having a garden, especially with a dog. One thing I would mention, if you have a very curious, active puppy like ours, the garden walls are only two feet tall behind the shrubs in the lower garden and so it wasn’t very secure for our dog. A more sedate dog may be fine. Stratford itself is very dog friendly which makes staying there easy.

Thank you for your comments and we're glad you enjoyed the welcome items and treats, thank you also for the excellent comfort and cleanliness scores. You are correct that the walls are two feet at some points in the garden but it is enclosed and suitable for most dogs, we hope your puppy still enjoyed the stay. Property Owner

The touch of a box of chocolates from the owners was a lovely gesture. The garden, the bathroom facilities, the (fake) plants throughout the house, everything has been looked at and thought through to make sure guests are going to enjoy their stay. My only suggestion to improve things would be to ensure that there is a bedside lamp in the third bedroom and that an extension lead is run to bedside lamp nearest the bedroom door in the front double. At the moment there is nowhere to plug it in.
