  • "On first appearance everywhere looked lovely just like on line ."

But then was disappointed on a number of issues. 1 dishwasher dangerous as door fell down when opened and not very clean .2 door handle in twin room falling off .3 windows all very drafty. 4 shower in bathroom not very clean and bath panel needs replacing. 5 still no dressing table or bedside cabinet in one of the double bedrooms, as mentioned in August by another review. Very disappointed will not be stay again.

  • "We stayed for two periods of four weeks during renovations of our home."

It is comfortably furnished and spotlessly cleaned and serviced during our long stay by neighbours Chris and Jen. It is very convenient for dog walking and local eating pubs and garden centre. Although there was a problem with one of the electric radiators when we arrived this was quickly sorted out by Phil so we were kept nice and warm.

  • "Everything about the property was amazing."

Great location, ease of getting around the countryside, quiet spot to relax. Warm and welcoming home. Emma was extremely responsive to any question or request we had. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was the best experience possible. The home was decorated for Christmas with special chocolate Santa's on the tree for our two granddaughters. Milk, tea, coffee and pastries waiting for us upon arrival. A lovely touch as we were getting to the house late at night. We would definitely use this home on future trips to England.

  • "We had a lovely time the place was very clean and spacious and in a lovely position but a few minor things we felt need attention for future guests."

The first step on the staircase at ground level is approximately 2.5 inches higher than the all the rest which is rather dangerous especially when coming down the stairs. I don’t understand how it would have passed building regulations? The lawn in the back garden had not been cut for a week or two and was not cut during our one week stay. The back garden would benefit from a tidy up and perhaps the addition of a few shrubs to give it some colour. The patio needs the weeds removed. The bedroom with the shower could really do with a dressing table, somewhere to sit whilst drying your hair etc. and some bedside cabinets instead of stools. The smallest bedroom window would not close as the catch appears to be broken or out of position. The photos on the Sykes website need updating as they currently show the old sofa and chairs which were worn out on the arms these have now been replaced with 2 nice new sofas.

  • "Lovely cottage, clean, bright and everything you need such as pots and pans."

Extra shower in the double bedroom was a real bonus as was the downstairs toilet. Ideal when there's a 3 and 6 year old in your party. Beautiful area so a good base to visit all the lovely places. Met the owners, they brought a garden parasol.... very nice people. Although they don't own it, Chris and Jen who look after the property live next door so are on hand with any problems or queries. Only negative is windows could do with a good clean inside and outside as there are a lot of cobwebs! We've stayed at a lot of cottages so please take my next points as tips, not criticism. 1....Next to a working farm so needs to have a magnetic fly screen as there are a lot of flies which causes a problem when the door to the garden is open. 2....The two single beds and the double bed were very comfy, however although the mattress is comfy, the king size bed base is too low and in my opinion needs replacing. It isn't a divan like the others and definitely isn't good for two adults. The slats underneath move every time you move or turn over so of course they part company with the sides of the bed and the mattress falls through. Chris temporarily rectified the problem by screwing the slats to the base but I doubt this will last. 3.....Be careful with dining chairs. Some are a bit rickety, especially one that has lats missing. We told the owners about this so they are aware. With a little TLC this could be 5 star accommodation but if no one notifies the owners or the couple next door they don't know. Would stay again, once the above points were sorted out. Think that's everything, now to look for next years accommodation

All rooms were of a very good size and were well furnished and comfortable. I found the property was centrally located with easy access to Stratford on Avon ,Kenilworth ,Warwick and all the major Cotswold villages, but a car is essential.

There is everything you need in the property and we all said that the beds were really comfortable, we all slept like logs!!! Lovely location with Stratford and the Cotswolds so close. It is an ideal place to stay if you wish to explore Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area. The garden is nicely laid out and secure for those visiting with dogs and would be a lovely place to sit in the warmer months. We would happily recommend The Wheat House. Thank you.

  • "Comfortable and good for dogs- minimum carpets."

Addition of basics for cooking ( salt pepper oil etc) would have been helpful. Good location, very short 2 min drive for walks- to avoid walking on road. Very helpful onsite manager.

  • "We had a comfortable stay at the Wheat House, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay."

My only comment would be it could do with a little updating in the lounge, perhaps add some comforting colour! The bedding, beds and towels were 100% feeling fresh and to me this is the most important need. The kitchen was really well equipped with all ones requirements. Lovely stay and near to Stratford on Avon, we will be back!

  • "We had a very comfortable stay in The Wheat House."

There was a warm welcome on our arrival and it was good to know help was near at hand should it be required. Sufficient amenities throughout the cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Spotless bathrooms. Good sized bedrooms. The week flew by and would happily have stayed longer. I’d certainly go back if staying in that area. Excellent location from which to explore Stratford, 15 minutes from the centre even in traffic (worth knowing if you have a Blue Badge that street parking in Stratford in free) and the Cotswolds villages to the south. Welford on Avon is also a beautiful village.
