  • "Quite simply stunning corner of the planet - what a beautiful and peaceful setting."

The cottage was comfy and cosy, the room sizes generous and the shower hot. The ever-warm range in the kitchen and the homemade pots of marmalade on the side were the icing on the cake - thank you.

Everything was spotless, of high quality and very comfortable. The position and surrounding area beautiful with lots of places to visit. We started by going to church in Cuddington and couldn`t have had a warmer welcome. It met my expectations because I have used Sykes Cottages before and know what they are like. Thannk you very much.

  • "A lovely quaint cottage set in beautiful, peaceful countryside."

There's an outside table and chairs so in nice weather it's lovely to sit out and enjoy the views over the garden and countryside beyond. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a few meals in and weren't short of anything. As the summer weather had arrived the AGA wasn't in use but that wasn't an issue. The owners Vanessa and Richard live next door and were there if we needed them. The cottage is in a great location to get to places like Oxford and London so we visited both. The best train station for London is Haddenham which was a short drive away and we then caught a train that got us to London in 45 minutes.

  • "We found Orchard Cottage to be comfortable, clean and well equipped."

There are lovely views of open countryside from the cottage and from the west facing conservatory, which overlooks the rear garden and a field of cows. There is little light pollution in the area so it's a good spot for star gazing on a clear night. One bedroom has a standard double bed and the second has two single beds. The upstairs bathroom has a bath, wc, bidet and basin but no shower. There is a small downstairs shower room with basin and wc. The lounge was small but comfortable.

Most evenings the first port of call was enjoying a cold beer admiring the quiet beautiful countryside. We would like to thank Mr and Mrs Bates for their kindness and Flexibility. Everything that we needed was provided, including extras such as tea, coffee, milk and biscuits as well as toiletries and cleaning/washing up materials and even washing machine liquid. Thank you Richard and Vanessa for your friendly welcome and a really snug home-from-home. Forgot to say, the Aga was great for keeping the kitchen toasty warm day and night and also for cooking most of our meals - we only used the electric cooker on one occasion. We highly recommend Orchard Cottage and hope to return in the future.
