  • "Enjoyed our stay in Orchard Cottage very much."

It is quaint, cosy and warm in a peaceful location with wonderful views. Owners very welcoming and next door if you need them for anything. Spent a lot of time sitting in the conservatory after a day out enjoying the view and watching the Red Kites. Hope to return.

And the annex has everything needed for a holiday, old fashioned and quaint with a wonderful aga - a real favourite for cooking and don’t need the normal cooker that’s also there! Very clean and tidy, we’ll be back

  • "We had a great week in Orchard cottage."

The owners are very nice and made us feel really welcomed. We really appreciated to have plenty of tea, coffee, sugar,... and delicious marmalade :-) We enjoyed every moment in the cottage: in the morning we had breakfast in the conservatory, watching the birds and the countryside around. In the evening we loved making fire. The cottage is huge, perfect for a family of four, specially with the 2 bathrooms. The had plenty to do around: the national trust properties, visiting the towns of Oxford and Windsor and a day at the Harry Potter studios. It was our second stay in the cottage and we would love to come again.

Both bathrooms were in serious need of modernisation. The downstairs toilet did not flush, the bidet upstairs did not drain properly, and the taps in both were inefficient. Of all the recent Sykes properties we have stayed in, this one does not warrant a second visit.

  • "We have just come back from a lovely week in this beautiful cottage which is set in scenic countryside of Buckinghamshire."

With many towns like Aylesbury being only a short drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the red kite swooping and flying over head. The garden birds and squirrels tucking into food on the birds feeders. Also the usual countryside animals in the fields around us. The cottage itself has all the comforts of home. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, thinking of everything that you may need. We will defiantly be taking a trip back to Orchard Cottage in the future.

The view from the conservatory is amazing and had we not had places to visit I would have been content to sit and watch all day. Red Kites make it special, but they are not the only birdlife to see. Only downside is the appalling state of the roads in Buckinghamshire.

Garden not being mown makes it unusable, even pathways would help. We found the Wi-Fi barely working, it is the owner's Wi-Fi with no extension/booster into the cottage. The downstairs shower room would benefit from an electric towel rail as it was cold & damp. AGA was out so had to use electric heaters at times.

  • "Friendly welcome by the owners, Very attractive property in a wonderful farming, countryside location, wonderful views and sunsets."

The property would be enhanced with a firmer, larger and more comfortable bed. The current bed is far too spongy and for people over 6 feet tall is on the small side. The WC’s do not flush efficiently and the step from the kitchen into the conservatory is a trip hazard. Overall the property is competitively priced and has the potential to become a 5 star experience. Would recommend.

There's an outside table and chairs so in nice weather it's lovely to sit out and enjoy the views over the garden and countryside beyond. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a few meals in and weren't short of anything. As the summer weather had arrived the AGA wasn't in use but that wasn't an issue. The owners Vanessa and Richard live next door and were there if we needed them. The cottage is in a great location to get to places like Oxford and London so we visited both. The best train station for London is Haddenham which was a short drive away and we then caught a train that got us to London in 45 minutes.

There is little light pollution in the area so it's a good spot for star gazing on a clear night. One bedroom has a standard double bed and the second has two single beds.
