"Clean, attractive and warm place immaculately kept."
Very easy to stay here; our second visit at Christmas. Lovely friendly hosts. Only drawback is the exit being on a very busy road but the place itself is very quiet and peaceful.

Excellent decor, and all essentials included, and a secure safe environment. We were greeted and made welcome by the owners, who live on site, and were available if required. The Cottage is all on one level, and parking space is easily available and secured by an electrically operated gate at the entrance to the farm. If this Cottage is in an area you are looking to visit, then I can highly recommend it.

"Really nice cottages maintained to a high standard and in a beautiful setting."
We were made very welcome from day one and had an instant friend in Maisie who soon became a regular visitor. The cottage is in a good location and close to Whitney and Burford as well as the beautiful Cotswolds. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

"The property was beautifully clean and well equipped, everything you could need was provided."
We found the bed a little firm, but that is just personal preference. Jade was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and Alfie and Millie (the dogs) were very friendly too. The location close is perfect, remote enough for a peaceful break, but close enough to the A40 to explore. We had a wonderful week, and would recommend it to anyone, and will certainly come back if we intended staying in the area again.

"Saddlebacks Barn is one of three converted stables for two people, within a farm complex."
They are finished to a high, very comfortable standard with every thing you need. The owners (different generations of the same family) all live on site. They are all helpful and attentive to your needs, and you see them daily around the farm as you come and go. The farm is just off the A40 and is on the edge of the Cotswolds and is within an hour of Gloucester, Cheltenham and Oxford. The two closest villages of Minster Lovell in one direction and Brize Norton in the other are a five minuet drive or half hour walk, where there are a choice of pubs and shops. We had a lovely relaxing week here and would definitely recommend it.

"A gorgeously appointed cottage being cared for by a lovely family in a beautiful setting."
We were greeted on arrival and wished safe journey on exit. Although this s a working farm and saddlebacks is the middle converted stable of three there was no noise from our neighbours or the working of the farm . It was a quiet and relaxing retreat . Short walk to the bus stop for a trip into Oxford along grassy verges , beyond the bus stop the pathways of Minster Lovell took over and it was an easier 20 minute walk to local pub for excellent food , A torch is provided and the bus timetables are easily accessible via their website , plus there is a free multi-storey car park in Whitney so your car can be left there safely while you bus hop. Great holiday, fab weather for January and a great part of the country. We couldn’t have asked for anything more . Even the farms two dogs liked to come and say hello occasionally .

Initially booked due to the high specification, decor and price. The barn did not disappoint. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly prior to and during the stay. I would highly recommend staying at any of their barn properties. Communication with Sykes cottages was difficult prior to the stay. They didn’t respond to any emails.

John, the owner, met us the evening we arrived and gave us a quick run down of the unit and the surrounding amenities. This was very helpful. Even though the owners live on site, we hardly felt their presence, and were able to have quiet enjoyment of the property. The facilities were first class, very modern and very clean. All the linen, bedding and towels were high quality and very clean. Remarkable attention to details e.g. the availability of a shower mat to prevent slipping in the shower, the manuals for the kitchen appliances were available. The pint of milk in the fridge and the packet of biscuits were appreciated. A box with leaflets of the surrounding places and amenities was available and very useful.

Invisible to passers-by and surrounded by countryside Saddlebacks Barn at Grove Farm is a Cotswold gem.
The barn is located at the end of a private, tree lined drive in a traditional cotswold yard.
Tastefully renovated to an immaculate standard mixing contemporary touches with classic Cotswold features.
Together these provide a very high quality of self catering accommodation which has been carefully improved and maintained keeping it 'tip -top' - and we're sure you will agree.
Views across the farm are almost uninterrupted - bar the horses.

About the location
Burford
Burford is possibly one of, if not THE most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located mid way between Oxford and Cheltenham (25 mins each away) it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit.
The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits!
With little changing over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all with 25 minutes from the property.
