The property

Set in the picturesque village of Churchill is this fabulous Grade ll listed, 19th century property, Anne Walters House, which was formerly the home of the neighbouring school’s headmistress and has been renovated to a contemporary style, whilst retaining many period features.

The perfect base for a small family or group of friends alike looking to stay in a peaceful part of the Cotswolds.

As you enter the property you are welcomed into the bright foyer which is home to a beautiful, large window and offers a place to store your muddy shoes.

Enter into the welcoming dual aspect living room and marvel at the stunning exposed brick fireplace which houses a warming woodburning stove, where you and your loved ones can relax into the sofa or armchairs and watch your favourite show on the Smart TV.

The lengthy hallway leads you down to a handy cloakroom/utility on your right, which has a lovely original stone arch and distinctive Victorian flagstone flooring, and to your left you are welcomed into the bright and airy dining room which features a stone mullion window, grandfather clock, ornamental fireplace and a round table with seating for all your guests to toast to your holiday that lies ahead.

Further into the property you will find the kitchen which is flooded with natural light with help from the skylight, and is well-equipped with all the facilities you need to rustle up a delicious evening meal and gather with your group at the breakfast table that overlooks the stylish centre island in the kitchen.

On the first floor you will find the bathroom with a delightful freestanding bath for you to soak in the bubbles before heading to one of the three bedrooms.

Resting on the first floor, the master king-size room with built-in wardrobes and an ornamental fireplace is a well-presented and welcoming room, with a open-concept en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and gorgeous exposed beams, the second bedroom has graceful rural views and contains a super-king-size bed, with built-in storage space and a quaint ornamental fireplace.

A doorway adjacent to the second bedroom opens up to reveal a second flight of stairs which climb up directly into a sitting area in the eaves of the property which has a handy cloakroom and continues through to a twin room which has lovely exposed beams and painted brick wall feature and is perfect for older children.

Now you’re acquainted with the inside of the property, head outside to enjoy the last of the sun, in the perfect south-facing garden with a generous lawn area that is bordered by box hedges, pretty flower beds and a gravel pathway, leading to an area shaded by a yew tree and a patio area with seating area and barbecue for you to enjoy along with an array of outdoor games so you and your group can have a fun-filled evening.

The village of Churchill is surrounded by the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many scenic walks right on the doorstep including the five mile long 'Kingham and Churchill’ walk, as well as being home to an ornate tower, lovely Cotswold stone cottages and a picture-perfect pub, The Chequers, serving locally brewed beer and rustic dishes set within a warming and friendly ambience, Make a visit to nearby Chadlington where you can indulge in delicious hamburgers, cool draft beers, lagers, ciders and rosé, and also the interesting cow juice, all at Diddly Squat Farm!

Hop over to Burford, where you can visit Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens where you will find over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays throughout the park.
