  • "Super property home from home comfort."

Best bed I’ve ever slept in! I’ve chronic pain and I slept so much better . Everything is of a high standard and beautifully clean . Cozy and warm with plenty hot water for everyone. Super parking . We had a slight issue with the wifi upstairs and the lovely owner promptly came to help . We would definitely return on visiting the area . So much to do it’s a great base for Oxford and the Cotswolds. Don’t hesitate to book .

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Honeystones. Its wonderful to hear that you all really enjoyed staying and that you found it so comfortable. We hope to welcome you all back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "A comfortable holiday house but wouldn’t have liked guests using upstairs as stairs extremely steep and shallow."

This is emphasised in cottage details but we were surprised just how steep they were! For someone with average sized feet it was impossible to place the whole of your foot on the stairs. H & S! However we were very comfortable using only downstairs bedroom and shower. Heating very easy to use and rads heated up incredibly quickly. Kitchen well equipped but fridge door did not close easily-could easily be left ajar. Good quality tv and comfy sofas. Not sure if battery of tv handset monitor needs new battery as didn’t always respond. Very limited plugs in downstairs bedroom-eg for using hairdryer. Perhaps extension lead required here?! Thank you for supplying window lock so downstairs bedroom could be ventilated. Details need to highlight more the brilliant feature of bus stop two doors along, with regular service to Cheltenham and Oxford in under an hour. It was a joy to use especially being so near to the house! Loved the print in bedroom and hall. Loved the unit in hall for shoes, and the coat hooks. Very thoughtful. A bright and well decorated holiday home -very good value for the price. Thank you

Note for owners gateway is plenty wide enough but had differcult vision when driving out pedestrains and traffic too the left, just trim the conifers back safe then.

Beautiful property- kitchen could do with food cupboard(s) terrible smell from dishwasher probably due to lack of use - stairs were ok despite description saying very steep - sturdy hand rail -bannister for support / location was central for days out but not a good area for a walk and no local shops or pubs unless you had transport - ample parking but had to be vigilant when pulling out onto main road from narrow property access

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're glad you like the property and appreciate you bringing some issues to our attention which we have passed on to the Property Manager. Large parking area, where upon arrival a neighbour was parked. Whom quickly moved. Side fence panels look unfinished as two feet away from ground level. The rear garden wall is unsafe and has some bricks fallen and covered up with a random fence panel. Interior kitchen also has issues with all cupboard doors not correctly closing and uneven especially those in front of washing machine , dishwasher and fridge ,freezer. Drawers well supplied with knives plates etc. upstairs main bedroom is two small beds pushed together thus for a couple unsuitable Overall appearance was ok nothing great however a mix of marks on the walls, cobwebs in downstairs bedroom and bathroom along with two lights not working and an Ant trail behind and along the toilet made it feel just not looked after and homely.

As no one in our family is above 5'5" - we had no issues with the sloping ceilings that others have mentioned. We had an issue with a toilet and rang the contact details, the toilet was fixed whilst we were out. There is lots to do for families in the area. Whole heartedly recommend Stonecroft.

  • "You walk in and the house has a lovely uplifting feeling."

The furnishings are nice and comfortable and there is plenty of space. We banged our heads more times than we care to remember in the upstairs bathroom and we are not tall people! The downstairs bedroom and bathroom are great for a less mobile person as was the case with our group. However the laminate flooring isn’t level between the bedroom and bathroom which was a trip concern. Our other challenge was the handrail by the steps for the front door isn’t long enough so for some steps there is nothing to hold onto. We had a lovely break - thank you

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Honeystones Cottage. We appreciate all your comments and will get Maintenance to review the handrail outside and floor. With regards to the ceilings, it does show online that the bedrooms are in the eves of the house, so if your a tall person, it may not be ideal, if you don't want to keep bending down. We do however have lots of other property's with ample head room for the taller person and we would be more than happy to advise next time when booking. We hope you made the most of the location you stayed in and enjoyed the Cotswolds. Kind regards Manor Cottages Property Owner

The house was beautifully presented, even with a few Easter decorations, cakes and an egg (my daughter was especially happy with these special extras!). It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. One of our party had mobility issues so the downstairs bedroom was perfect. Lovely big garden with comfortable garden furniture. We saw lots of wild rabbits in the field behind the garden. The beds were comfortable and the area is silent at night The location is perfect, our longest journey time was just 30mins to Bourton-on-the-water. Tip: the front door locks behind you so make sure you keep the keys on you Recommended places to visit: Burton-on-the-water, Blenheim Palace, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Ducklington Lake

The minute we walked in the door it felt warm and welcoming. The down stairs area was perfect regarding the layout so our family could sit and chat around the table which was lovely. It was so well equipped. Being Christmas we did very little cooking but everything was to hand if we had needed to. We were amazed to find how beautifully decorated the house was for Christmas with even a real Tree. We would like the Owners to know how much we appreciated that. The bedrooms were tastefully furnished with high quality bedding etc. . Comfy beds and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Curbridge is a lovely quiet village so outside noise was never an issue. Although we never used it, there is a regular bus service ( S1 ) passing the door with buses to Witney and Oxford which are both worth a visit especially to Oxford. We wish we had booked an extra night as we were sorry to leave.

Unfortunately there were problems on arrival so the maintenance man had to come to look at a broken blind. The beds hadn’t been separated into 2 singles as requested pre arrival which meant that 3 of the 5 guests weren’t able to arrive until the Saturday to allow this to be done; this meant the holiday was shortened by a day which was annoying. The property was clean but lacked some basics; a dishcloth/sponge to wash up, nowhere to hang towels to dry in either bathroom, the temperature of the shower in the door stairs bathroom was too hot for some and couldn’t be adjusted. Plenty of car parking space and a lovely size garden with a countryside view to the back.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologise for the mix-up with regard to bed-configuration and hope that you found this to be sorted quickly and satisfactorily. Thank you for bringing the shower temperature to our attention as we can now ask maintenance to investigate. Property Owner

On arrival the cleaners were just leaving telling us the floors were wet! tread carefully! After having a quick walk round checking the rooms it was apparent deep cleaning had not been carried out. Dirty corners in sitting room, cobwebs with spiders in all rooms and an area of mold in the downstairs bathroom ceiling. All of these issues had been reported by previous guests! Unable to contact customer services for two days and the house was eventually cleaned properly after we had been there for five days. The upstairs bathroom is out of bounds to anyone approaching six feet because of the eaves restricting access to the loo,all adults had to use the downstairs bathroom. This bathroom is not en-suite,access is from the main hall not the bedroom.

  • "The property is well equipped and like staying in someone's home."

The downside is that it's situated between two main roads and near Brize Norton RAF base. While we were there the weather was warm, so windows needed to be open at night. This led to some of us not getting much sleep. Also there is no gate or fence on one side of the garden or a front gate, which means young children could run onto a busy road. These points should be mentioned prior to booking. Our scores are based on the garden not being secure, lack of sleep and under the downstairs bed not being clean.

Many thanks for taking the time to feedback on your stay at Honeystones. We're sorry to hear that you were disturbed by the nearby RAF base. Thank you for bringing these things to our attention as we can now rectify them for future guests. Property Owner

  • "Firstly, great location and a nice cottage."

The owners have equipped and furnished it very nicely and the garden was a great size for our son and daughter to play in. Witney/Curbridge is an area we know well and the cottage is very well placed to access many child friendly activities and locations. On arrival there were some damaged items that needed reporting to Sykes. One issue needed to be fixed and was done so promptly the following day. Communication from Sykes was very good. However, as the week progressed it became clear the cottage hadn’t had the deep clean referred to on the Sykes website. Clumps of hair from a previous guest, cobwebs in the corners of pretty much every room, accumulations of dirt and dust under furniture and beds, one of which can’t have seen a vacuum cleaner in a long time. We tidied/cleaned as we went but by the end of the week we were extremely disappointed, especially given the current situation with Covid, to still be finding things guests wouldn’t expect to see in accommodation that had been adequately cleaned. Ultimately this tarnished what should have been an enjoyable stay in a pleasant cottage.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your recent stay at Honeystones. It's great to hear that you enjoyed location of the cottage, it's very central to see all the sites with the kids. With regards to your comments about the cleanliness of the cottage, i can only apologises that if it wasn't up to our usual high standards and we will talk to the Housekeeper about this. If you had called and made up aware of this when you arrived, we would have sent a Housekeeper out straight away to rectify any issues. Property Owner

The only problem we had was the temperature in the shower, it was too hot and couldn't adjust it ourselves, we had to have the maintenance man out to it twice, but eventually got it right. The upstairs bathroom was very small and my daughter and her husband couldn't stand up to have a shower. Apart from that everything was lovely, the lounge and the kitchen were very comfortable. The drive was very big and would hold lots of cars. Would recommend it.

We only used the downstairs bedroom which, though on the small side, had a very comfortable bed. The house was ideally located for many of the Cotswold market-towns and villages, which was one of our main reasons for choosing this particular property. Wifi was excellent. There was ample parking space on the drive. We've not quite given the property a 10/10 as the outside space, while very tidy, felt rather lifeless.
