  • "All was great in Albion barn for our party of 8 in more than adequate accommodation."

The issue here is the neighbours , they told our teenage boys not to play football , fair enough , what was not acceptable was filming our diplomatic request for ball return . Filming minors without permission .there have been previous issues with noise but we were very respectful in this issue . They made our stay uncomfortable.

  • "Very open and timely communication leading up to our weekend away."

A great size place for 3 families.

    Mrs WilliamsFeb 2020

  • "10 of us stayed at Albion Barn from the 10th- 12th May as we were attending a wedding in the area."

The barn is perfect for a large group and is really spacious and well maintained. Our favourite part was definitely the hot tub! The house keeper Dot was great at communicating with me and gave me all the details I needed prior to our stay. I would thoroughly recommend Albion Barn and Manor cottages.

    Ms SmithMay 2019

  • "Fantastic place for a family get-together!"

    Dr CrosbieMar 2019

  • "Had an amazing weekend, the house is so spacious, clean and with a very social layout."

We were a group of 10 ladies, celebrating a forthcoming wedding with friends and family. Couldn't have wished for a better place, everything you need is there and spotlessly clean. We would all go back again. Thank you.

    Mrs CroftJan 2019

  • "This is the second time that we have visited Albion Barn (Manor Cottages) for our family pre-Christmas get-together."

The barn is excellent, and has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. We cooked a Christmas Dinner for 12 and everything we needed was available in the kitchen. The local area is great for country walks and the local pub is minutes away and always gives a friendly welcome. The bedroom/bathroom arrangements are excellent. Some of our family are moving around the UK and we may need to look for alternative accommodation next year but it will have a lot to live up to !!

The property

Albion Barn is a fabulous and contemporary barn conversion set within an excellent and rural location on the edge of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

Internally the owners have put together a spacious holiday home simply ideal for all ages with a large living/ dining room and separate kitchen as well as good sized bedrooms, mainly on the ground floor, plus a self contained annex just ten paces from the back door!

Even though there are some clear signs of a period barn, there are many, many modern touches including underfloor heating throughout and an 'uber kitchen' that make this such a unique and desirable holiday property.

Externally the property enjoys a quiet location as it sits on the edge of this little hamlet, with fields in all directions, while the barn's private and enclosed garden to the rear make this an ideal property to kick back and relax!

The separate and fully self contained annex provides an ideal private hideaway for two in your group!

With great access to the Cotswolds and a local pub on your doorstep we are quite certain that you will be delighted with this choice.

About the location

Burford is possibly one of, if not THE most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located mid way between Oxford and Cheltenham (25 mins each away) it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit.

The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits!

With little changing over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all with 25 minutes from the property.
