Since two of our party are over 6 foot this was a problem including one having a very bad knock to the head. The twin bedrooms were not large as the instructions say nor was the lounge and for 6 people there were only 5 seats. Nor did the instructions inform us that the second toilet was also upstairs as well as the bathroom. Only small people would be able to stand under the shower due to the ceiling height. Partially used pieces of soap are left for you in the bathroom which isn’t very pleasant. There were too many ornaments and nicknacks around the house leaving you very little space for your own belongings. Some of the knobs on chests do drawers and wardrobes were falling off. We were only left 3 washing up tablets for the dishwasher for a week in a cottage for 6. Parking appeared to be a problem to the next door neighbours even though we kept one car on the drive and the other on the road not overlapping our property at all. Next door completely blocked us in on more than one occasion even though they had space in front of their own property. Various parts of the property were definitely not clean. All in all disappointing and over priced.

Thank you for your review of Lavender Cottage. We appreciate comments in order that standards can be maintained and improved . We take concerns very seriously. We have noted concerns regarding low ceilings in some areas of the cottage and have therefore brought that to the attention of guests by mentioning this on the website. We believe that the description of the cottage is accurate. All rooms are described as a good size and not described as large. There is seating for 6 in the lounge- a three seater sofa, a two seater sofa and an armchair. here is no downstairs WC and the cottage description does not suggest that there is. In reference to the supply of dishwasher tablets , as a holiday cottage guests are provided with starter packs for all essentials upon their arrival, and not for their entire stay. During the eleven years that the cottage has been used as a holiday let this has never been a problem. There is parking space on the gravel drive through the archway, in front of the gate and in front of the cottage. Once again thank you for getting in touch, we take all feedback seriously and where applicable have actioned changed based upon your feedback. - Sykes owner relations

The property

Lavender Cottage, is a true favourite with us at Manor Cottages!

A period property that is so welcoming when you arrive and one which has retained its charm thanks to the care the owners show - unsurprising given that the cottage has been in the family for generations!

It is kept spotless inside and out and styled very much in keeping with the building's history and style - it's appeal is that it is cosy, warm and beautifully comfortable.

The rooms throughout are all a good size, light and bright; in our opinion an ideal choice for a family getaway.

It's a very peaceful location, it has a large garden to the rear which has fruit trees, a large lawn and a variety of places to sit and relax, it's a little gem.

One thing that caught our eye (strange admittedly...!) was the fantastic vegetable garden across the road, it's a work of art! Situated on the edge of a peaceful village and surrounded by some of the most beautiful Northern Cotswolds countryside, this holiday cottage offers an excellent quality of accommodation across two floors, packed with period features as well all of the modern conveniences you'd expect.

We highly recommend this cottage, it offers a very desirable destination and an ideal base for a Cotswold holiday.

The local pub/ restaurant and shop are only a 10 minute walk away, while the newsagent, butcher and bakery are about 15 mins walk away.
