  • "Cottage was very nice, but there were no basic amenities, i."

    E. tea, coffee, milk, salt, pepper etc. There weren't even sponges for cleaning dishes or paper towel. There were only 2 dishwasher tablets. I arrived late so had nothing until the next day when I went to buy all these basics.

  • "Comfortable historic cottage in a stunning woodland and countryside location close to the town Henley and surrounded by pleasant villages."

The garden is large and has lovely views. Inside the cottage is well equipped. There were herds of deer over the garden fence and endless squirrels! A peaceful stay, thank you.

  • "Really beautiful cottage, extremely comfortable furnishings and well equipped kitchen."

Friendly and responsive hosts. Listing needed to be a little clearer with regards to the second (en-suite) bathroom which is in fact just a toilet and sink, The listing did state there were two bathrooms.

  • "Basically the layout of the cottage, access to the attic bedroom was difficult due to the very steep stairs ( this resulted in one of our party falling down the stairs, fortunately being ok), also the shower cubical really needed a door entry as more water escaped out of the cubicle than down the drain."

The lounge area seating was inadequate, any more than 4 adults could not be comfortably seated, the television positioned on a wall in the corner behind the main door really needs to be sorted into a place where most people can view it. The cleanliness of the kitchen area was also an issue with the worktops needing attention. To sum up the website needs better photographs and explanations of the layout of the cottage.

We are sorry to read that your holiday at Hunts farm cottage was not as enjoyable as it could have been for you. Your comments were useful and have been noted and will be, where possible implemented. The "steep stairs" which lead to the loft room; We have asked sykes to highlight this in the description. The "inadequate seating in the lounge" We accept that the lounge is small and have left chairs that you may take into the lounge if needed. The kitchen whilst clean and tidy does admittedly need some carpentry work around the sink area where the wooden worktop has been used. We are also working with the agency to provide better photographs/ explanations of the cottage layout. However this is a quirky, small cottage in an area of outstanding natural beauty, which is one of the reasons people wish to stay here. Hopefully there were some aspects that you found enjoyable, such as the peaceful and tranquil setting on the outskirts of henley-on-thames, the proximity to lovely countryside walks, the ample parking space and huge south facing garden as well as the original period features of one of the oldest cottages in oxfordshire.
