“Would highly recommend this beautiful cottage in an amazing location.”

We were a group of 8 adults and 3 children, and we never felt on top of each other. The children loved the outdoors and were thrilled to see some visiting ducks.

The property

Located in Shipton under Wychwod, and lying half way between two of the Cotswold's most popular destinations (Burford and Chipping Norton), South Lea is a stunning 6 bedroom / 3 bathroom property which has recently undergone complete renovation by its current owners, to provide a luxurious level of accommodation.

On entering the property you are immediately drawn to the large, open plan kitchen / dining room: an absolutely stunning space in which to entertain.

On one side you have a wall of glass with views of the glorious outside space and giving the property an abundance of natural light.

The kitchen is amply-equipped with everything you could need to rustle up a delicious home-cooked meal for the whole family.

The dining area offers a place to dine together as a family or to catch up on the day's events.

From the kitchen you have access to one of the 2 beautifully appointed lounges, with sumptuous sofas, large flat screen t.v.

and the obligatory log-burner, for those chilly winter evenings.

At the other end of the house is a second, more intimate sitting room, again with a log-burner, and is the ideal space in which to relax and recount the events of the day.

The ground floor also contains one of the 6 superbly presented bedrooms; this one with king size bed and a cool and contemporary en-suite shower room. On the first floor you will find 5 further equally gorgeous double bedrooms (one double, two twin rooms, one king size and one super king size rooms), as well as two family bathrooms, both with showers and one with a bath as well to soak away the aches and pains after a particularly hard day's sightseeing.

Outside has an enclosed garden with lawn and patio areas to both the front and rear of the property, and offers a space to enjoy lovely family meals, or just a place to sit out and soak in the wonderful countryside air.

Off-road parking is available to the front of the property for up to 5 cars.

From the property you have miles of glorious walks, most involving some of the stunning pubs that The Cotswolds is renowned for (you are only a 5 minute walk from the 3 lovely pubs in Shipton). A little further afield you will find the famous, Medieval town of Burford, with its array of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants (3.5 miles), whilst the bustling market town of Chipping Norton lies just 6 miles to the north.

The beautiful town of Woodstock, with Blenheim Palace (the birth place of Winston Churchill) lies just 10 miles away.

You are also within easy reach of the historic university city of Oxford (20 miles). South Lea truly is the ideal location for friends and families to explore all that this beautiful part of The Cotswolds has to offer.
