  • "We had a family gathering to celebrate my 75th birthday."

There were 13 of us including 5 children. The facilities and accommodation were first class and the large garden was ideal for children’s games. We particularly liked having 2 dishwashers and 2 large fridge freezers. All in all an excellent location which we would have no hesitation in recommending for large family gatherings

Thank you for providing us with this feedback. We are glad to hear you had a lovely stay at Shifford Manor Farm. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, Barley Park Cottages. Property Owner

  • "We really couldn't fault this beautiful oak beamed but modern updated property and communications with the owner."

New Year with all our family from different parts of England was amazing and the Christmas decorations and welcome basket were a fantastic treat.. Everywhere was spotless and the House had excellent cooking facilities and equipment. Beds were very comfy and beautifully soft large towels. Spectacular views of farmland and animals. Plenty of room for 10 of us inside and out. Ample parking too. Would definately recommend for large family gatherings.

Thank you for taking time to provide us with this feedback, we are so glad to hear you all had a lovely time. We hope you plan on returning in the future. Property Owner

  • "Our group had a fantastic stay at Shifford Manor, the property is huge and so pretty."

We were very impressed with how well looked after it was, how well equipped with really good appliances and how clean it was. The property is super cosy and perfect for a large group, it has a traditional feel but modernised at the same time, which we absolutely loved! We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend Shifford Manor to all our friends and family. Thank you so much for having us and making our stay so comfortable.

  • "The farmhouse was a wonderful place for a family holiday!"

The grandchildren liked running in the garden, watching the tractors in the lane and the combine harvesters! The area is quiet and peaceful but close to Witney and all it's facilities. Our party particularly liked the vegan Cafe in town! The Leys park has a good play park with water jets, great for a hot day!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a feedback, we are delighted that you all specially the grandchildren enjoyed your stay and looking forward to seeing you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The house is vast and all the appliances are top of the range, which is almost unheard of in a holiday rental."

The house was absolutely spotless when we arrived and it has brilliant WiFi much to the delight of the older children. We would definitely recommend it to anyone. I’m struggling to find any thing negative to say, but perhaps a hot tub or given the very large garden even a pool?

Thank you for recommending Shifford Manor Farm and we hope you will return in the future! Property Owner

About the location

BAMPTON, OXFORDSHIRE

Witney 4 miles; Burford 8 miles and Oxford 19 miles.

The thriving village of Bampton lies in the Thames Valley in the southern Cotswolds, amidst beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Bampton is one of the oldest villages in England boasting a village shop, Post Office, butcher, and traditional pubs serving good food and real ales, all set around a pretty market square a hundred yards from the cottage. Ancient customs can still be experienced with the regular morris dancing festivities, which have been enjoyed for over 600 years. Just four miles away is the riverside town of Witney, which offers many attractions including a weekly market dating back to the Middle Ages, an 18th century town hall, and Wychwood Brewery. Burford is possibly one of the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. With little changing over the centuries. Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for it's shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. Oxford, the oldest university city in England, boasts interesting Botanical Gardens, museums and libraries, and plays host to many festivals and markets throughout the year. Enjoy a punt on the River Thames or take a boat trip on the River Cherwell. The ancestral home of Winston Churchill and the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace is just a short drive away, where many lovely walks can be enjoyed around the landscaped parkland. With so much nearby, Bampton provides a wonderful holiday destination.
