  • "This was a great place to stay during our walking trip along the Severn Way."

We’re particularly appreciative of such good quality accommodation for dog owners, as our experience is that this is not always the case. The issue of sound insulation between the two apartments does need addressing though. The noise of people moving about wasn’t a huge problem during the day but could be quite disturbing at night if people got up for a drink or to use the bathroom. We like to self cater and found all the new kitchen equipment very good but not extensive. In particular we’d have liked a sieve. We would definitely recommend staying here but, if you’re a light sleeper, pack your ear plugs!

  • "One of the best locations you could find."

The property is finished to a very high standard and the owners have clearly listened to previous feedback e.g. providing a hoover and dog bowl Would definitely return

  • "The Boathouse is in a lovely location and the flat is fitted out nicely."

The one massive drawback is the lack of soundproofing between the upstairs property and the Boathouse. The noise of the occupants above was hugely disruptive and annoying. We had to wait until they went to bed in order to be able to go to bed without being woken up by the footsteps above (including the dog running back and forth). The light fittings vibrate so loudly along with the footsteps that it’s unbearable at times. I wouldn’t stay here again for this reason. The cleaning also needs improving with dust and hairs of past occupants everywhere including the bedside tables and a dishwashing brush full of hairs. It’s a real shame as the village is lovely and the flat itself is really nice. The outside space has been hugely improved, we enjoyed sitting out there and watching the activities on the river. The corner ship has all the things you need including delicious ice cream and we enjoyed the food at the Harbour Inn just across the bridge. I definitely recommend the steak night there, so tasty! There are some lovely walks too straight from the Boathouse, especially the walk to Highley train station. Just go across bridge and turn right and follow the river. I would definitely come back to Arley but I would stay at the Gaol property above the Boathouse.

  • "A perfect little "get away from it all" cottage, with the most amazing views, the perfect way to start each morning and end each evening sat out in the garden area."

Helena is brilliant if you do need anything. The post office 2 doors away, has almost everything if you have forgotten to pack something. The Harbour Inn is a short walk over the bridge and does great bar food, or the Olde New Inn a bit further up the hill, does an amazing selection of Tapa's. The steam train is a great day out, and Bridgenorth is a lovely town with the cliff railway to get you to the top. Great walks straight from the front door, Bewdley is a 4 mile walk along the river, and another lovely town. Arley Arboretum is also, a good day out, great fun to be had in the maze. All in all, a beautiful cottage, in a beautiful setting, where you can certainly re-charge your batteries.

  • "We really enjoyed the holiday snd location, the facilities and furnishings were excellent but there is one MASSIvE problem - the noise from the flat/accommodstion above - hugely dissappointed that the noise from people walking around/ moving furniture or children getting up at 6am to plsy - there is plain floorboards above and no soundproofing - this really does affect your holiday and such a shame in such a beautiful flat - this really needs addressing as believe when both properties are occupied further comments/complaints will be received on this problem."

  • "The boat house is an incredible place to stay - great team managing it, stunning location, house completed to a very high standard and offered a delightful break away."

Nothing much I can say about any improvements needed, but guests that are very sensitive to noise I would suggest booking the sister property The Gaol, as you can hear footsteps etc because of the wooden floor, however we weren’t overly bothered by this.
