  • "One of the best holiday let’s we have had."

Lovely setting so tranquil on the farm. The owners could not have been more welcoming . With a visit to the Black Country museum one and an evening at Alexander stadium for a great night of commonwealth games athletics thrown in how can we top that?

  • "This property was exactly as we expected - wonderfully quiet and peaceful and beautifully situated."

All instructions were clear and everything was easy to use. The Garden Barn was extremely comfortable. I suppose the only slight downside was the very uneven track to access the property, but this, I gather, is beyond their control.

. Great kitchen excellent layout & superbly equipped.. Large bathroom with separate shower. Vaulted lounge with patio doors leading to a raised deck facing open fields and hills Parking to the side of the barn.. Had a great week unwinding... The owners were on-hand but always unobtrusive.. We will definitely book again..

  • "We chose this area for the Geocaching circuits."

The wifi was excellent for our needs. We found the bed soft for our liking but we slept well. We found the water to have an antiseptic taste so bought bottled water for drinking. The boiler smelt "fumey". There are views across the fields and the lambs were a joy to watch. I fished a couple of evenings at the lake and caught carp up to 5lbs. The property was clean, well presented and well furnished. We did enjoy our stay and would definitely consider returning to enjoy the on site environment.

  • "Thank you to the Williams Family for their clear communication and for welcoming us to their lovely farm."

Garden Barn is very comfortable with the terrace providing the perfect place for watching the antics of the new lambs. The summerhouse and it’s garden are more sheltered for breezy days. The house was very clean and well equipped with a comfortable bed, and there’s a nice walk from the door. It’s almost a shame it was too warm to light the fire. The location is very handy, especially if you’re planning to have a day on The Severn Valley Railway. We had a great week and hope to return.

The bed was very comfortable in spacious master bedroom. We had problem with shower so owner arrange for plumber straight away. We recommend this cottage even though it is on a working farm it wasn't too noisy. October 2021.

  • "Two (relatively minor) problems:- Shower unit control so stiff, almost impossible to turn."

French door leading on to balcony in need of repair or replacement. Door wouldn't close flush. Plus points:- Super views from cottage. Very friendly and approachable owner (Mr Williams). P.S. Shropshire council should hang their heads in shame - the condition of the public road from Billingsley village is dreadful.

  • "We had a great week at Garden Barn."

Although on a farm it was quiet and peaceful and we were left to ourselves to come and go as we pleased but knew the owner was around if we needed anything. There were some fab walks straight onto footpaths from the barn and our dog also had a secure back garden as well. Garden Barn is fairly rural but it is also in a fabulous location with brilliant views and if you want a peaceful relaxing break then book it !!

  • "The cottage is lovely, old fashioned but beautifully kept."

The beds are so comfortable and the views are delightful. Its a rural idyll. My only problem was that, being disabled, I found the high step at the front door and at the patio door difficult to negotiate. A grab handle would be very helpful. The lane approaching the farm is full of potholes so beware! Shropshire is a truly beautiful county to explore.

  • "The cottage us a great size in a very quiet rural location with wonderful views."

The cottage has all the necessary amenities required and is in a good location to explore the local area and further afield. It's approximately 30-40 minutes to Shrewsbury, which I s very nice. There are lots of facilities available nearby for families; Ray's Farm is worth a visit with young children, as is 'Wonderland' in Telford (2-5's only really). The fishing pond is excellent, although some variation on species would be a great addition. The pond has a lot of carp, ranging in size, with the biggest I caught at 6lb 4oz. Simple tackle with simple tactics will work and its a nice way to spend an hour or two in the evening. Overall this is a lovely cottage and will suit families, couples and small groups.

  • "Friendly hospitable hosts."

The accommodation is on a working farm set in magnificent suroundings. We are here in lambing season; a lovely environment for peaceful holidaying with loads of walks and local attractions. The accommodation is detached, extremely comfortable with its own garden, summer house, patio and parking. The kitchen is extremely well fitted and equipped. A spacious bathroom and two excellent double bedrooms make it more than suitable for families. TV in bedroom and lounge wilth all freeview channels. Free wifi. Independent central heating and masses of hot water. A lovely woodburner. The accommodation is close to the Georgian town of Bridgnorth with its own history, especially worth visiting are the churchs, Guildhall, gardens and river. Its fernicular railway is a great experience as is the Seven Valley railway. The accommodation is within easy car travel of beautiful tourist areas including Bewdley, Much Wenlock, the Black Country museum, Ironbridge and its museums, walking in Church Stretton on the Shropshire Hills or seeing glass making in Stourbridge with its canals. There is so much to see and do and you can return to the comfortable tranquility of the cottage.

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years but this was indeed one of the best. The owners were extremely accommodating, they went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable, providing extra dog towels as the weather was very wet. Even replacing the washing machine at short notice as the one in the barn broke down. We would definitely stay again, and recommend this place to anyone looking to visit rural Shropshire, a great central location near to Bridgnorth.

The cottage was very comfortable and spacious with a well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable beds. The deck had nice garden furniture and a lovely outlook across the countryside, There was a small sunny grassed garden on a bit of a slope with a cute summer house with seating. The property is very rural with the nearest town being Bridgnorth about 8 miles away, a very pretty town to explore. The roads around the area are very narrow and the access to property which is on a very busy farm is a track. The only problem we had was that all the doors had large steps and also a step in the main corridor so unsuitable for some

  • "We loved every minute of our stay at Garden Barn."

Mr & Mrs William’s were extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed over the Christmas period and the barn was decorated with lovely country Xmas decorations, a real Christmas tree and other festive ornaments. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your catering needs. The beds are very comfortable and in the smaller room there is a surprising roof hatch for storage/extra sleep space. The location is peaceful and tranquil. It has been really nice watching Mr William’s farm the sheep in the field behind the barn. There is a lake in view where herons, pheasant, ducks can be seen as well as buzzards hunting the fields. Despite it being a working farm, the noise is a minimum and does not disturb. We were more than happy with this location, the vicinity and the whole booking procedure. This is a ‘dog friendly’ cottage. There is parking for 2 cars available. The road down to the barn from the main road is a bit ‘pot holey’ but this is to be expected on a working farm. Located in the perfect place for easy access to Bridgnorth, Highley, Bewdley, Kidderminster and Wyre Forest. There is plenty of local literature available for you to browse at the cottage. We will certainly consider renting this cottage again in future if we are in the area. Thank you for such a lovely time.

  • "The cottage is in a farm setting, with amazing views over beautiful rolling countryside."

There is a large raised balcony/patio area to one end of the cottage with a large wooden table and chairs for al fresco dining. A lovely secluded garden is accessed via the smaller of the two bedrooms and there is a wonderful garden room tucked into the sunny corner. Although I am a confessed lover of barn conversions and stone cottages, the features in the Garden Barn are lovely - open beams, log burning stove, an amazing tapestry above the stove, comfortable sofas and chairs and occassional tables for everything you need to hand. The bedrooms are well furnished, and we chose the smaller of the two for our stay - mostly because of the views over the garden. The owners provide a large basket of logs for the stove, and replenished it when we ran out! There are comprehensive food shops in the nearby village of Highley, and lovely woodlands walks all around the cottage. All in all, we had a wonderful week here.
