"My stay at the cottage was fantastic!"
Cozy, beautiful, and relaxing. Highly recommend!
"We enjoyed our stay in a comfortable, well equipped property."
"Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area of Shropshire."
The cottage was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Within easy reach of interesting places. We went to Ironbridge, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Kinver Edge, West Midlands Safari Park, Dudmaston Hall and Cosford RAF museum. We couldn't manage to do everything we wanted so another visit is required
"Excellent cottage,, very very clean,, Very friendly Old boy."
. lovely dogs Everything you need apart from a broom or hover ,, would highly recommend
"Facilities exceeded expectation."
The only object missing was a broom.
"I found The Byre everything that I hoped it would be."
A very enjoyable stay, highly recommend.
"The whole accommodation package 100% ."
... a most enjoyable stay
"The pot holes on Bind Lane need sorting."
I realise this is a council issue but I found it was too painful some days to use. If you want a letter of support I'd be happy to send one. Lovely location, very quite and beautiful views. Some of the rugs didn't help me as I walk with sticks and I had issues accessing the shower.
Thank you for your feedback. The lane is a council road and we have no control over this. We are on hand to help with any issues during your stay and we would have attended the property if needed to assist you. Thank you for your comments about the lovely area that the property is in Property Owner
"Bind Lane and the farm roads are full of potholes but if you take it slow (below 20mph) then it’s okay."
Cottage itself is comfy and warm. Apart from arrival we didn’t see the owners. The farm seemed slightly busy but still seemed peaceful for us.
"A clean, comfortable and cosy cottage."
Well equipped and tastefully furnished. Secure parking on site. A great location and within easy reach of some lovely towns, walks and activities. Had a great week. The owner John was available if anything needed, but for our stay all was perfect.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Byre and look forward to returning in the future."
We were given a friendly welcome to this haven. The only little thing I would have liked would have been a chest of drawers to store our clothes but that is a little thing. A great holiday in peaceful surroundings.
"It was a great place for a week's break."
Lovely location and we had a comfortable stay
"The Byre is a very clean and comfortable well equipped holiday cottage in a lovely area, we appreciated the books and games provided ( weather not brilliant )."
We have previously lived in the area and really enjoyed going back to Bridgnorth, a wonderful bustling town with lovely cafes and foodie shops. Worfield village just a couple of miles out of Bridgnorth is well worth looking up, a quintessentially english village, so pretty at Jubilee time....we hope to return
"Excellent place to stay with great views over the countryside."
Great local pub not far away for superb meals.
"Quiet rural location."
Cosy, well equipped property with attractive outside space. Problem encountered was dealt with quickly and solved as soon as possible by the Plumber. Signage to the property off the main road, needs a bit of a tweek. e.g. Pub mentioned is no longer there and the sign mentioned is languishing in the Hedge. However, the rest of the signage mentioning the Farm was fine. The property is accessed by an uneven Farm Road.
"Love the cottage."
Hate the potholes.
"Lovely spot very comfortable cottage well equipped, nice little courtyard and furniture owner on hand but not intrusive."
Would not hesitate to recommend
"Fantastic cottage very comfy and clean everything in there you need when going ..."
Fantastic cottage very comfy and clean everything in there you need when going away would recommend and met 2 lovely girls Tilly and Purdy ( the farm dogs )
"It is a great location with lots of places to walk, as long as you can cope with the hills and with the Severn Valley Railway also local it is a great base."
there is also easy access to many national Trust properties. However given Cornoavirus places are not open as they would normally so checking info is important. The property is on a working farm and is therefore rurally located with a narrow road.
"Everything you would need, great accommodation, comfortable & welcoming"
"Cottage was warm and snug due to the excellent central heating system."
Quiet location in a secluded rural setting.
"The barn conversion was very nice and clean."
The owner came early evening to check if all was ok.. we enjoyed our stay.
"The cottage was a cosy, quiet hideaway for a couple."
It was well equipped and we had everything we needed. Although on a working farm we felt away from it all. The owners were very helpful and we found plenty to do without driving very far. We found a pleasant walk from the footpath on the farm to the Severn Valley Park, drove to Ironbridge for the museums, visited Dudmaston Hall grounds and Arley Arboretum, explored Brown Clee Hill and a circular walk from Benthall to Ironbridge. Came home feeling relaxed and rested.
"Perfect base for exploring the Shropshire countryside."
Comfortable, quiet and with everything you need to make it an easy stay.
"If you don't mind driving down a stony farm track, this hidden gem, set in beautiful countryside, is the perfect place from which to explore the hills and valleys east and west of the River Severn."
"Even though on a working farm, The Byre was very quiet."
A lovely destination
"It was very pokey and not what we expected from the pictures."
The bedroom was particularly cramped. The settee in the living area was unbearably uncomfortable and needs replacing.
"The en-suite door was catching on the floor making it difficult to open/close."
Shower pressure very low Bedroom tv not working Very dusty gravel drive to property - car gets very dusty Courtyard required weeding Patio table/chairs poor quality Difficult to control water temperature in kitchen sink
"The bathroom door needs to be lifted."
"The access to the cottage was down a rough road followed by an unbelievably rough lane."
We made sure we were home before dark as I would not have taken my car along it in the dark. Had I been aware of this access I would certainly not have booked this cottage. It was very remote and had few local amenities. Although the facilities on the whole were good and the overall cleanliness was of a high standard the sofa in the living area was well past it's sell by date and very uncomfortable. The outside seating needs replaced as it would not have enticed you to relax outdoors. The Owners were unfriendly, unhelpful, barely spoke to us on arrival and ignored us for the rest of our stay. This is the first time after numerous stays in cottages that we have had any complaint about the owners. Would we return to The Byre ....NO. Would we recommend anyone to book The Byre ...Only if they were driving a four by four and staying for only a couple of nights.
"Owners were very pleasant and helpful."
"Very well thought out accommodation."
Very relaxing & peaceful. We felt it was very homely. There were lots of little extras. From here you can get to see many different places, which we did. Would I recommend it, very much so. A big thanks from us.
"We had a very pleasant stay at the Byre."
It was comfortable and well equipped. Being on a working farm adds to the interest.
"Lovely cottage in a great location."
Perfect weekend away and would definitely reccomend.
"This was a wonderful rural retreat, could not have asked for better accommodation it completely exceeded our expectation and the finishing touches of what was provided was fantastic (right down to a teatowel and washing up liquid)."
Now that we have discovered Sykes and the types of property available I don't think we ever want to stay in a hotel. It really was a wonderful break.
"Nice barn conversion in a rural location."
Good facilities and well situated for access to a wealth of visitor attractions. Would certainly return to this property.
"The byre was just what the doctor ordered, it was very clean and comfortable, so peaceful and the owners, john and pearl were very helpful, looking, to book for next year."
"Needing somewhere to stay while vising family & friends in Shropshire, I was very lucky to find The Byre."
It was extremely clean and tidy, very comfortable and well equipped, quite the home away from home. No issues with WiFi, though mobile (EE) worked better outside. The property is on a working farm out in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Plenty of places to visit and see in the area, though own transport is a must. The property owners live down the driveway, but let you have your privacy. However, they are lovely people and were very approachable and helpful in my experience. There are also some very friendly dogs on the farm. I highly recommend The Byre and I certainly hope to stay there again. I had a wonderful time!
