  • "Lovely cottage very cosy good beds"

  • "Good rural setting in a small complex of cottages on a farm ( good road)."

Shared garden available. Very well equipped and clean. I particularly liked that there was good towel provision....sensible sized bath sheets. The only drawbacks were a poor flow on the shower but may have been a water pressure issue and the two seater sofa was a bit lumpy on one side. Also the door lock needs some attention. There is a well stocked Nisa on the outskirts of Much Wenlock and a Spar in town. Also good cafes, Chinese takeaway and the food in the pie shop looked delicious! There is a small farm shop on site with cake and coffee available and some outside seating which would be lovely in better weather. Owners on site but not at all obtrusive but responsive when called ( their small collection of barn animals made a break for freedom

  • "We had a lovely stay and the property was as described, clean, comfortable and well equipped."

The location, was so quiet and the countryside beautiful. The property, being adjacent to others, meant that the other residents walked past our patio doors. They also used the barbecue which was just to the left of our accommodation and, though they weren’t noisy, the smoke was coming directly towards us so we had to spend most of that evening shut inside which wasn’t ideal. Would consider returning to one of the other properties on the far side of the courtyard where there would be more privacy and I can see that the whole place would be great for a family/friends gathering.

The owners Margaret and Chris were great and could not do enough for you, even when I broke the toilet seat, but that is another story. Changed quickly and at no expense. Property very comfortable and clean and Harvey our Jack Russell loved it, Weather perfect and no issues at all. Well done, Keep up the good standards and one day we will return. • "One of the best resourced holiday homes we have stayed in, with an abundance of crockery and cutlery and a large fridge freezer."

We loved the many pictures of sheep, cows and donkeys. This converted farm outbuilding is in a beautiful setting amid rolling countryside, an ideal location for exploring Shropshire. The slight downside is that the French window looks onto a path leading to the shared lawn and play area, so that children from other properties are often passing by and looking in.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Ryelands Cottage immensely."

The setting is peaceful and scenic with great views across the Shropshire hills. Each morning we liked to visit the sheep and cattle in the field at the bottom of the garden and walk our dog down the long lane that is part of the farm. The kitchen is generously equipped with a plentiful supply of cutlery and crockery, and all the cooking equipment you are likely to need. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated and it is ideally situated for exploring Shropshire, many great places are within a 30 minute drive. Margaret is friendly, helpful and responsive host. Any issues are dealt with promptly: the tap in the kitchen started to drip during our stay and was fixed the day we mentioned it and was fine thereafter. We are more than happy to recommend this cottage and hope to return to it soon.

  • "Margaret was ;lovely and met us with a warm welcome."

. We enjoyed our stay. The beds and lounge were comfortable. It was nice to have a tv in our bedrooms and a large bathroom. On the negative side we found many dead spiders around and we also found privacy could be an issue and kept our curtains closed as we only had french doors and the people from the next cottage kept walking past and standing outside.

Our host and hostess are the most delightful people and have done so much to make our stay enjoyable. The views of the Shropshire hills are spectacular and located in a spot within easy reach of amenities. We were warmly greeted with delicious eats placed thoughtfully in our delightful cottage, as well as many information leaflets on all the interesting places to visit. The peace, tranquillity and friendliness have left us refreshed , with lovely memories. The cottage is fully equipped and decorated with care. Highly recommended.

  • "Had a lovely time."

The playground was great for our two grandchildren. Although we knew we would be attached, we hadn't realised it was a small complex and the children riding past our French window was not what we had expected. Also when next door smoked outside, the smell came through our open windows. That said, we would return but the cottage had no tumblers, only wine glasses. Also a jug for water would have been useful. Perfectly situated for getting around the area.

  • "Compact but very comfortable cottage in a quiet location surrounded by open fields."

Nice added touches provided by owner. Ample space to exercise dog. Brochure description is slightly misleading as there are more properties than listed. Not a problem for our visit but a clearer description would avoid potential misunderstandings. Ideal location for walks including Kinver Edge, Ellesmere Lakes and canal, Wenlock Edge, the Long Mynd, with walk along streams and waterfall in Carding Mill Valley, and woods at Lower Whitcliffe.

It was very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and we were impressed and very happy with the cottage. It is a very quiet and serene location with nothing but the sound of skylarks and other birdsong, bleating sheep etc. Margaret was very friendly, kind and helpful. There was a very generous provision of welcome gifts incuding cakes, chocolates etc and some useful things like salt and pepper, toilet rolls, cooking oil etc without looking at all cluttered and messy.

  • "The cottage is small but very cosy and practical."

It suited us well as we were on a walking holiday and it is a great base for some good walks (Ironbridge, Wrekin, Wenlock Edge etc). It was nice to be able to bring our small (and well behaved!) dog and to feel she was welcome and not seen as a nuisance. It provided a very good short break, it was easy to find and a nice location with views of the Shropshire rolling landscape and well positioned on a working farm. Probably best for 2 or 3 - too small for more or for boisterous children!

  • "The oven could do with a clean."

The dishwasher needed fixing, the owner said he was going to sort that. The shoe storage cupboard was very dirty. Could of done with a downstairs loo. One of the settee the springs had gone. Could of done with a feather duster too. Very friendly. Just needed a bit of tlc. People abuse things and I like perfection. I’m a fussy person. The barn was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped, had a fridge freezer, washer, dishwasher all the cooking stuff you could want, even cook books! and we had a lovely welcome pack. Plenty of towels and a brand new washer, which came in handy. Who wants to go away and wash? Me. The lambs were gorgeous. It was lovely seeing the chickens and the views were outstanding. Well presented and a great relaxing holiday. Not a holiday if your looking for excitement, it’s so very relaxing. The bedrooms were fabulous.
