  • “Perfectly quirky”

Quirky place to stay in a lovely location. We loved our evenings eating and drinking on the patio with the sound of the weir in the background. It's just a stones throw from the canal path and plenty of walking. Kinver Edge is a must. All we needed for a coronavirus escape. Some previous reviews have questioned its kitchen facilities - but a microwave and a hot plate really is enough! If we were to change anything it would be the sofa bed. Probably OK for a weekend but not really comfortable ...

Probably OK for a weekend but not really comfortable enough for a week. And realistically once you make it up it stays up - so why not have a proper bed? Nevertheless we still loved the Dovecote and look forward to going back.

Nearby Stourbridge, famous for its glass making, has many lovely parks while Bewdley, once described as 'the most perfect Geogian town in Worcestershire', sits on the banks of the River Severn, close the medieval Wyre Forest with its many walks and cycle routes, and offers a good choice of pubs and cafes along the riverside as well as many tiny shops, antique and art galleries. Also close by are some of the best attractions in the country, including The Severn Valley Railway, the West Midland Safari Park, Cadbury World and the Black Country Living Museum, Ironbridge Gorge or the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford.
