  • "The cottage was beautifully clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped."

Our only slight criticism was that the hot water kept running out in the shower, so we had to be really quick. Our son really appreciated the large lawn at the front for playing football and the owners were very welcoming. Ideal location for half-term holiday with the children as there was lots to do within a short drive away. The local pub also did really nice food.

The little basket of goodies was a lovely touch on entering this spacious cosy cottage with all the facilities you could wish for and at the centre of an area full of places of interest with no shortage of somewhere to eat out. It was so faultless apart from two pieces missing from the 1000 piece jigsaw but I'll let you find out which they are !!!! Have fun we did

The cottage is excellent in fact the second time we have stayed, the first time for our friends who were impressed with all aspects of the cottage. We were able to relax completely and enjoy the lovely surroundings. We did make use of the great garden but the weather was very unpredictably which was a shame. A wonderful holiday cottage for all seeking a home from home.

  • "Cream Door Cottage is immaculately clean."

The standard of the accommodation is exceptional. There is plenty of everything you need and more and everything is to an excellent standard, including the fact that the knives for preparing food are actually sharp and fit for purpose. There were also nice little touches such as usb sockets on some of the electrical sockets. A welcome pack of coffee and walnut cake, a bottle of water and some fruit was lovely. There were also tea bags and sugar in containers. The outside space is the best we have seen in our many cottage rentals with a beautifully planted border and a table and chairs for eating al fresco if desired. Ian and Lorraine were very friendly and welcoming.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Cream Door Cottage, which is ideally located for visiting West Midlands Safari Park (10 minutes away), Ludlow Castle and Bridgnorth (where the oldest and steepest funicular railway is located)."

The owners are absolutely lovely and are very helpful without being imposing. The cottage itself is like a home from home and offers everything you could possibly need. The conservatory was the place we always gravitated towards each evening after a busy day sightseeing and the secluded garden is perfect for dining alfresco. The cottage was immaculately presented and a very thoughtful welcome package awaited us upon arrival. Take a stroll to the end of the driveway to see the fluffy neighbours, a field full of alpacas! Cottage was spotless and very well equipped, we didn't realise there wasn't a freezer of any kind and having ordered frozen products to arrive the hosts very kindly went out and got a freezer! Great location for exploring all the many national trust properties around the area plus the black country museum and blists hill Victorian town. Good selection of pubs to eat not too far away, highly recommend the tap House hartlebury. The cottage really was our home for a week we all very much enjoyed it and the weather.

  • "This review is a month late."

Many apologies. Not intentional! Cream Door Cottage can be thoroughly recommended. A warm welcome on arrival followed by a cup of tea and a slice of cake from the welcome pack marked the start of what was to be an excellent week. The cottage was very comfortable with plenty of space for the two of us. Indeed there would have been plenty of space for four, be it two couples or a family of four. The second twin bedroom had an en-suite just as well equipped as the double, so there should be no disappointment from the children or a second couple. There was plenty of space to spread, with a conservatory leading off from the comfortable and spacious living room. The two bedrooms were not lacking in space either, and with a TV in each and a third in the living room, three differing tastes in TV entertainment could be accommodated simultaneously. It does say somewhere in the blurb that the floors are rather uneven. I wouldn’t argue with that, but after about two days I’d finally got my sea legs and I was fine after that. (Of course, that’s an exaggeration somewhat...) The unevenness adds to the charm! The cottage was very warm, when we needed it to be, with an easily operated boiler control. The timer was set to reasonable on/off times and we were able to use the one hour over-ride button when we stayed up late. Heating was extended to the conservatory, though we turned that right down as we didn’t need it in the evening. There was an electric oil radiator in there too, so I would think in winter time that room would be as cosy as the rest of the cottage. There is a very attractive cottage garden to the rear with table and chairs for al fresco dining. We didn’t take advantage but looked a very pleasant and secluded place to eat. There’s plenty of space at the front for two cars to park. The main reason for booking Cream Door Cottage was so we could visit a relative who is confined to wheelchair and have days out with her and her husband. Of course the cottage is totally unsuitable for a wheelchair user as a holiday base, but she did visit us one day and we found it just possible to get her in her wheelchair through the front door (with the aid of a ramp) and into the living room. Of course anyone else booking the cottage is unlikely to need that ‘feature’, but I mention it, just in case. All in all, Cream Door Cottage makes an excellent base for a couple, family of three or four, or family of three or four. We never did find the cream door though...

The owners Lorraine and Ian are very helpful and made our stay a very happy and memorable one and the welcome basket upon arrival was a lovely touch. The cottage was lovely. Very clean and presentable. We had everything plus more to make our time there comfortable. For us the garden and the morning room were most relaxing. There was plenty for kids to keep busy with. Location was excellent for us with a day on nearby steam railway and another day running around Malvern Hills. Our six years comments were, "this is the bestist cottage we ever stayed in" Thank you Ian and Lorraine.

  • "The cottage totally exceeded our expectations, amd we wished that we had been staying for longer."

The kitchen is particularly well-equipped. The owners (who live in the adjacent property) are very friendly and helpful but not remotely intrusive. We are looking forward to our next visit. I should add that we did not choose the cottage for a holiday, but rather to provide one of us with a quiet space to write, and the other a convenient base for work during that particular week, so cannot comment upon it as a holiday destination. I am happy for my feedback to be published (and sent to the owners) but any publication must be anonymous.
