  • "Lovely cottage perfectly located."

Could do with a few more utensils in the kitchen. Straining spoon for cooking veg, large serving spoon both would be very useful. Also egg cup's for boiled egg breakfast. I also feel a small fan would be useful as it was not easy to access fresh air in the small bedroom owing to the location of the sky light. Please do not take the suggestion as a negative. It was a treat to walk into a high street and get fresh food it would have been a shame not to use self-catering to its full advantage. Excellent cottage.

Cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Brilliant location and a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

  • "Really enjoyable stay - not least because we got hopelessly lost on lengthy hill walk on our second day - had no option but to call the owner seeking guidance which she responded to by turning out in her own car to come and rescue us!"

Hi Graham I’m glad I was able to find you both ! I have husband who often goes ‘missing on bike tours ‘ Also, that you both had an enjoyable stay at Tannery Cottage. Please come back soon. Best wishes Kate and Darren Property Owner

  • "Would have been nice to be told the garden was a public thoroughfare"

Dear David Thank you for your review and from the nice comments made about the property in the book. To clarify matters the 2 next door neighbours have access around the back garden for the bins once a week on a Tuesday and occasionally garden maintenance. It is not a public right of way. We will add this to the Sykes website details. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved this cottage."

It’s been beautifully renovated, was so comfortable and we had everything we needed. Our guests couldn’t join us so we were spoilt for space but there would have been ample for the four of us (plus dog! Having a dog stair barrier was a good idea). Much Wenlock is a lovely, interesting place and the cottage is perfectly situated for a short walk into the centre or driving to other towns. Thank you Kate for our stay and again for all the help you gave us. Also for your kind welcome items. Best wishes and we look forward to visiting again.

Hi Lindsey Thank you for your lovely comments. It’s so nice to hear you and your dog enjoyed your stay at Tannery Cottage. Please come again soon. Best wishes Kate and Darren Property Owner

  • "Having stayed previously at one of Darren's properties, we were expecting comfortable accommodation, and we weren't disappointed!"

The cottage was superb in all aspects - both the property itself and its location for exploring the surrounding part of Shropshire. We very much enjoyed our short stay; being very pleasantly surprised with Much Wenlock itself, as well as visiting Shrewsbury. We would certainly wish to book Tannery Cottage again should we return to this area. David & Christine Bennison pp Ed & Sue Hinchliffe.

  • "We stayed a week at The Tannery in Dec 2023."

The newly renovated Cottage is swish & spotlessly clean. The kitchen is modern & well equipped & the cosy living room with a log burner is lovely. Our king size bedroom was marvellous & had one of the most comfortable beds ever. Although the cottage is right in the centre of Much Wenlock, just a short walk from pubs and shops. The welcome guide was really useful and had several, easy to follow walks from the doorstep which we tried out with our dog. The village pubs, The George & Dragon and The Fox Inn were very welcoming, dog friendly, and served great food at reasonable prices. A bit further afield we enjoyed Ironbridge & Shrewsbury, a visit to the Prison is recommended. Also, The Wreckin'. The views are well worth the climb. A great place for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful part of England.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It really is appreciated. So glad you tried out some of the walks. Sounds like you really got out and explored what Shropshire has to offer. Hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards Darren. Property Owner
