  • "My family had a lovely stay at Merchants Cottage."

The location was perfect, quiet and peaceful and just a short walk into town, where there were lots of things to do and plenty of shops and restaurants. The cottage was spotless and everything we could need was provided. The garden was a lovely bonus where we could sit and have a drink when the sun was shining. We would definitely love to stay again.

  • "A lovely home from home!"

Although a period property, the interior is very light and modern and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen area is well designed and there's a lot of good (out of sight) storage for cases, coats, boots etc so the overall feel of a calming, organised atmosphere is maintained. It's a super location with parking right outside the door due to the parking permit. The bright garden and folding doors from the kitchen meant we could link the living in the kitchen with the garden space. The lounge area (more spacious than the photos suggested) was really comfy for watching some TV at night. Only thing I'd say you should know is that the stairs are quite steep - that's the case in all these terraced Stratford houses so you might wish to consider that if you have mobility issues, but otherwise a real pleasure to stay here and we would book again without hesitation. Thoughtful and kind hosting too with milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine awaiting our arrival! Much appreciated!

This beautiful cottage with large folding doors bringing in the outside into the kitchen was delightful and such a wonderful place to return to after a day wandering through Stratford-upon-Avon. As soon as I saw they provided the Scottish Fine Soap's "Sea Kelp" I knew we were in good hands! Everything and more was provided in the super clean kitchen with lovely touches eg milk, tea and biscuits (and not forgetting that lovely bottle on the fridge

  • "We loved our stay!"

The house was inviting and ideally located for our needs. We were a 3-minute walk from Holy Trinity Church; a 5-minute walk from the nearest pub; about a 15-minute walk from downtown, restaurants and touristy things. The place was amazingly quiet. Even with windows open at night, pedestrians were hardly noticeable. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed, with two exceptions: a paring knife and operating instructions for the microwave. But there were so many exceptional items that these two were minor inconveniences. The complimentary bottle of wine and pint of milk in the refrigerator were most appreciated. Can't wait to return.

I contacted Sykes directly and they said they would contact the owner and get back to me, but they never did - pretty poor customer service from Sykes Also, lots of dust behind bedside cabinets so you have to query the general level of cleaning undertaken. I'm sure this feedback will not ne one of the ones published.

Five minutes walk to High Street, river etc. Wide range of eateries to suit all tastes. Lots to see and do, even in November and when you fancy getting out of town the British Motor Museum is a 20 minute drive away. Great for all ages. Many thanks to Sue and Jon.

Lovely outdoor area. The only possible downside for us, no down stairs toilet and would have liked two front door keys, not a fan of key safes. Both the holiday and accomodation were great. Many thanks.
