“The description stated that the property was 'superb' , and it looked superb when we first went in, and although there were sufficient rooms and facilities - the main drawbacks were that the central heating did not work and we realised then why there were moveable stand-alone radiators in every room to plug in (thus when you got up in the morning the rooms were cold until the moveable radiators heated up which meant we had to get up early to switch on the plug so that it would be warm by the time we got up) and the shower in the bathroom was temperamental and would be very hot one minute and then suddenly become cold when you could be in the middle of washing hair etc.”

Our family that we were entertaining stated 'this is not up to your usual standard'. We were surprised that Sykes does not check these things before putting them on the web site. There were other small niggling things that went wrong which we were able to deal with but by that time we thought - "something else". We also realised after booking the property that there were no reviews to read which there usually is. Location was good with access to many places.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to read that you encountered some issues during your stay as we would have been more than happy to assist you whilst you were there. The cental heating does work and we are glad to say that no one has reported a problem before or since your stay. We have an oil fired system which tends not to be on all the time which is why we have the plug in radiators, this was explained upon arrival and as we heard nothing further we thought there was no issue with the temperature of the property. The shower in the ensuite is not a thermostatic shower and so will only heat up when the water is on. We appreciate all feedback from our guests but would have loved to have remedied any problems for you during your stay to ensure you had a great stay. - Sykes owner relations
