The property

This traditional, detached bungalow is situated in an elevated position overlooking Lough Gowna in the small village of Aughnacliffe in County Longford.

Boasting three comfortable bedrooms and being just a short distance from the border of County Cavan, it is the perfect base for groups of friends discovering this scenic region.

The bright and spacious open plan living area encompasses a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a relaxing sitting area for four, all benefiting from panoramic views of Lough Gowna.

There is also a second sitting room with an open fire.

To the front, guests will find a well-maintained lawn, fully enclosed so the kids can play safely all day long.

The small village of Aughnacliffe is a wonderful destination for a peaceful and rejuvenating break, with plenty of activities and attractions within easy reach.

Aughnacliffe is home to two of Longford’s prehistoric portal tombs, the Aughnacliffe Dolmen and the Cleenrath Dolmen, which date back to roughly 3800BC.

The village boasts a local shop and pub and the most recent addition to the village, Leebeen Park, has a fantastic children’s play area, a walkway along the lake shore and outdoor exercise equipment, should you feel like burning some calories during your holiday!

Other nearby attractions include archery and go-karting, the Granard Motte and Bailey, the island of Inchmore on Lough Gowna and Strokestown House and Gardens.

Whatever the weather and whatever your age, you are sure to return home after a refreshing and relaxing break.

Located midway between the towns of Longford and Cavan is the small, scenic village of Aughnacliffe in North County Longford. The village is regularly referred to as a fisherman’s paradise as there is an abundance of lakes on the doorstep, including the impressive Lough Gowna, perfect for pike, trout and bream fishing.
