  • "Very bad TV reception needs a better receiver and the heating only worked upstairs on the first two days luckily the house wasn’t too cold."

Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay in Swiss Cottage.

  • "We loved the location, peaceful, private, beautiful surroundings."

The details on the sites need updating as some of the descriptions on what there was, was not correct. The reason we chose this property was, location and that it had an aga, four poster bed and a comfortable sofa in the lounge. Only the location was correct. On arrival around 3pm after a long drive a pint would have been nice. Instead a washing machine full of wet washing and a tumble dryer full of dry washing which we dealt with. The upstairs bed was very comfortable, great shower downstairs. Wifi would have been handy. Loads of fabulous places to visit. Some amazing restaurants, check out the Purple Onion.

  • "Loved this beautiful cottage in secluded woods with no noise and woodland walk."

The furniture was bespoke and beautifully placed. Very tasteful and different. Had to turn off heating a couple of times as very warm. Stove feature lovely but could have done with some fuel provided. I think a welcome pack would be an idea with tea coffee milk. Wine and fuel and bread and biscuits provided? I would have paid extra for privilege as you are away from shop and arriving at 3 pm. We went to Lough Kery forest park with kids (one hour away). Excellent adventurous day out and good fun. Had dinner in Lough Rynn castle across the road. Excellent and staff lovely. Small criticism but could do with curtains in upstairs room to ensure a solid night’s sleep. This property is a find. Unique and beautifully finished. I will be back again for a romantic weekend with my husband.

  • "What a beautiful cottage!"

From the moment you enter through the gates it impresses more & more. Wonderful peaceful setting. The cottage is not only beautiful but cozy and comfortable. The kitchen provides everything you could possibly need. The Marshall speaker in the living room was a lovely addition which we used daily. I would highly recommend this cottage and wouldn't hesitate to give it 5 stars.

  • "The property is in such a peaceful place just what we wanted."

This is maybe my 5th time booking it . And I have booked it for another three weeks from April. The problem is the furniture in the living room it’s not Fit for older people it’s all to low to the ground . There are seats you sit on and just slide off no comfort at all . The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed which is Way to low to the ground for older people. And the upstairs bedroom sports a double which is comfortable but to small for this day and age . The kitchen is top class everything you need and more the shower and bathrooms are brilliant always hot water and nice and warm . The outside grounds are beautiful. It’s the furniture in the living room and the back bed room bed that’s needs to be sorted. Especially if you are having a long stay and are in your sixty’s just no comfort. Please owners change the living room furniture and back bed .

  • "Overall a very comfortable and well maintained and very unique property full of character in a peaceful and beautiful area."

Good value too. Very warm with excellent under floor heating and a great stove. Lots of very interesting books. An issue with a malfunctioning smoke detector was dealt with promptly, which I appreciated. If I was asked to consider drawbacks, I'd mention the following: - Certain things that I would consider fundamental were not provided, such as a metal bucket and spade for removing hot stove ashes, toilet paper and cleaner, dish washer liquid, tea towels. - I wasnt really there to watch TV or DVDs but the aerial did not work properly resulting in poor TV reception and there was no DVD player despite the profusion of DVDs provided. These a minor issue however and I'd have no hesitation in recommending the property and would definitely stay there again.

  • "The property is excellent peace and quiet."

But the seating needs to be looked at as the seats are to low and they slope down to the front and you end up sliding off . The two big couch type chairs are comfortable but not made for older people to hard to get out off . The bed up stairs needs to be a king size. As a double bed is to small for m most people these days. Wi-Fi would be good in this day and age . I also think the cameras on each corner of the house is very intrusive. You feel like you are being watched 24 hours. It should be turned off when guests are renting the house .we love the place and have been to it at least 5 times now there is everything you need in the house . But when you are renting a place For A fortnight you should be able to sit comfortably.

It is fresh, clean, beautiful, inside and out, and very comfortable, spacious, lovely and warm. Don't follow the Sat-Nav to get there. Use your own map-reading abilities.

Very well equipped, however it would be nice if all the TV channels worked and also if wifi was available but it was nice to catch up on some reading.

  • "The cottage was amazing that much so we have booked a further two weeks."

From the moment We entered the cottage something made us feel so calm and at ease . The peacefulness of the location is amazing the only noise you can here is the trees talking in the breeze.red squirrels birds of prey .and my favourite sport fishing a few mile away. Every thing in the cottage you will need and more . WiFi would be good but learned to live with out it . The bedroom up stairs is amazing would be even better with a king size bed . The king size bed on the ground floor is a little to low to the ground for anyone with a disability but very comfortable.as with the sofa it’s a bit hard to get up out off but very comfortable to sit on.think the big cushion could be filled a bit more .but that gripe over I can’t wait to come back. you have done a great job with the choice of decor .The house was spotless clean when we arrived. And I hope we did a good job leaving it that way when we left . Thanks again Marty & Alicia Belfast. 5/09/2020

  • "A wonderful time was had at the Swiss Cottage."

It is quaint, beautiful and so tastefully restored. It has a wonderful art collection with my favourite being the painting in the kitchen by the family owning this cottage. This is a special place for those who appreciate the finer things in life but situated in a remote location which is incredibly peaceful. It would be absolutely perfect if it permitted a family dog also. great walks and space to explore too.
