  • "This is a lovely cottage."

It has been totally refurbished internally but externally it retains the typical rural cottage look. There is a large garden area which our dog loved: unfortunately, as we were there in mid December and during storm Barra, it was too cold, wet and windy for the humans to enjoy being outside. Situated in the heart of the Burren, it is a perfect base for exploring the fascinating history and landscape. Travel times to Galway and Limerick are not too long and the coast is easily reached - Lahinch is less than 30 minutes travel. I recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and rural stay without sacrificing good household amenities.

Some spoons and knives were dirty. The dishwasher did not work.

Our family had everything we needed. It was great that we could bring our dogs too. Plenty of space for our family of 2 adults, 10 year old and 2 teens. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

  • "Dolmen cottage was a fantastic place to relax and to explore the Burren."

Family of 5 with kids 14, 12 and 7 had an amazing week at the cottage. Caherconnell fort across the road is great especially the sheep dog demo, and the magical Poulnabrone Dolmen a short still up the road which is an amazing place to watch the sun set. Clean tidy cottage with plenty of space, quiet and very private. Will visit again.

The weather was great, the Burran's flora in May is wonderful and this cottage sits right by many archaeological sites. We had plenty to see over the week.

Dolmen Cottage itself nestles amongst some of the few mature trees in The Burren with a scattering of bluebells and tulips. It was genuinely a haven, I loved every minute.

  • "Loved this cottage as a good central location for exploring the area."

Everything you need is provided, all mod cons but a rural feel and location. Very spacious comfortable design. Chuffed that we could have our wee dog with us as not many owners allow this, big garden for him to snuffle around. A great place to 'get away from it all' if desired; still plenty to do in locality when you want. Some super local eateries serving fresh produce (you can't get fresher than the chef taking your lobster from a pot pulled from the harbour!). Very friendly, helpful owners on hand if need anything or have a question. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when visiting the county.
