  • "This is our second time staying at Dolmen cottage."

It is in the most peaceful location and a great base for discovering the Burren. The cottage itself is very comfortable and clean with everything you need. We also didn’t see any issues with damp or mould. No Wifi (as is made clear on the site) but no issues outside of the cottage. A good opportunity to take a good book and switch off for a few days.

  • "We have just had an amazing week at Dolmen Cottage."

It is in a very private, peaceful location but in a perfect central position for exploring the area. It is clean and airy, with no sign of damp in the bathroom and no more flies than you'd expect to encounter in the countryside. The water problem had been solved and we also had a good mobile signal with EE in the garden. We would certainly book the cottage again.

  • "The place was dirty and seemed to be infested with flies."

All of the floors were dirty. There were many areas suffering from damp especially the bathroom which had disgusting blinds covered with black mould and damp. The shower was so bad my wife couldn’t use it with the mould on the tiles. This distressed my wife enormously as she has medical conditions. Because of these factors we left a night early. Lastly we didn’t appreciate the fact we were not informed the water was not drinkable, and green. In summary this house was not a clean and habitable state.

  • "Super Cottage in a great location for touring Co."

Clare. Really cosy, great facilities with washer, dryer & heating. Loads of towels. Great kitchen facilities with plenty of the basic food items e.g. cooking oil, salt, pepper etc... Only small criticisms are as follows; - chest of drawers in main bedroom are too difficult to open/close especially for elderly guests - More details on how to use the grill as the pictures/icons are worn off on the actual nobs from wear & tear - A more comfortable sofa would be nice to relax on in the evenings. I think sofa beds are not very comfortable as sofas in general.

  • "Visited with two very young children, who both loved it."

Great location, quiet and remote, but not too far from local attractions (within walking distance of two of them). Clean, well stocked, and light and airy inside. Kids loved playing in the garden. Owners are really helpful. No WiFi or mobile signal, but if you walk up the road a bit there is signal, if needed.

  • "A really comfortable and quiet cottage."

Perfect with childs. Nice walks nearby appreciated. It's the place to be to discover the Burren area. Some wifi would have been appreciated to plan our excursions, but on another hand it t was a complete turn-off to be totally disconnected. Thanks for all.

  • "Fantastic cottage in remote, but handy to facilities, location."

No WiFi so you can get away from modern life and relax. People we met were extremely friendly and food in the places we ate at were extremely good. To sum up we would go back and there are few places you can say that of.

  • "This is a lovely cottage."

It has been totally refurbished internally but externally it retains the typical rural cottage look. There is a large garden area which our dog loved: unfortunately, as we were there in mid December and during storm Barra, it was too cold, wet and windy for the humans to enjoy being outside. Situated in the heart of the Burren, it is a perfect base for exploring the fascinating history and landscape. Travel times to Galway and Limerick are not too long and the coast is easily reached - Lahinch is less than 30 minutes travel. I recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and rural stay without sacrificing good household amenities.

  • "Dolmen cottage was a fantastic place to relax and to explore the Burren."

Family of 5 with kids 14, 12 and 7 had an amazing week at the cottage. Caherconnell fort across the road is great especially the sheep dog demo, and the magical Poulnabrone Dolmen a short still up the road which is an amazing place to watch the sun set. Clean tidy cottage with plenty of space, quiet and very private. Will visit again.
