  • "Your double beds are very uncomfortable, I ended up putting a single mattress on ..."

Your double beds are very uncomfortable, I ended up putting a single mattress on the floor so I could get some sleep, I didn't see any games although I wasn't wanting any for the supposed games room, there was no iron even though you have an ironing board, the kitchen utensils are extremely basic, even though you don't say you have internet almost everywhere does these days so it was a bit of a shock these are all negative feedback points, personally, none of this ruined our holiday or mattered a great deal to us, I'm just pointing it out, I can only assume other families would expect more, eg, buckets and spades, basic fishing stuff, a sharp knife, a scissors, some fuel in the starter pack, not just firelighters, and possibly make it very clear there is no internet available, but there is excellent 4g coverage would we use you again yes absolutely no problem we are in our 50's and older so don't care about any of these things I just am pointing out it would probably be what most families would expect from a holiday let by the sea Thank you very much we had a lovely time Regards Dave

  • "Sykes cottages stated towels were provided ."

When we met owner on arrival he said he didn’t provide towels. We arrived on a Saturday evening with a baby and 3 kids under 7 and couldn’t get a towel until Monday morning !!! Owner said on arrival he would go home and come back with some but we never saw him again until we were leaving . Cot was provided but mattress didn’t fit it , was obviously for some other cot but he said that was all he had . Besides that house was nice , good for kids and good location .

  • "The house was very dirty when we arrived, clearly had not been vacuumed or mopped, with dog hair visible on floor, couches & bed."

All the ware needed to be washed before use. This was really disappointing as reviews had been good to date & we were travelling with an 8month old so cleanliness is paramount. Downstairs bath did not have a shower curtain/door so could not be used for showering. Generally the house needs upkeep, a number of lightbulbs were not working, lock on upstairs bathroom did not work etc. The owner did respond to any concerns, however he was quite dismissive of anything we highlighted.

  • "Excellent property with good sized bedrooms for us all."

Loved having 2 separate bathrooms made life easier. Very clean comfortable house. Loved having a multi fuel stove but heating was very good. Close enough to the town to walk. Could do with a few hooks to hang coats. Would have no hesitation in rebooking.
