  • "Lovely cottage, and a lovely spot of Co Clare, just 3km from the beach."

It would have helped to have some documentation in the flat. Some leaflets/maps about the area ... but even more important, to have instructions for the use of the downstairs shower (a bit idiosyncratic, and even after calling the owner and discussing, still it took time to work it out). Having this available written down would save the owner some phone calls. We think the dishwasher doesn't work. Even after advice over the phone, we couldn't succeed (its an old one, and the latch wasn't clicking shut). And for these occasions good to have some scrubbers for washing by hand. By the way, we loved the place! I will recommend it to family, The 4 double bedrooms, and the spacious living area, make it a great choice ... even if the weather was terrible, would have still been a great trip. But the little things I mention would make it better.

  • "So happy with this booking."

easy to follow directions to the site, the owner was so helpful and left us cake and tea and even lit the fire for our arrival. left spare keys as we were a large group. we are a group of 6 adults away for a long weekend and there was so much space. added extras in the way of a washing machine and tumble dryer! would highly recommend

  • "Lovely accommodation - clean and set out well."

Warmed up quickly with fire /heating as turned up during a cold spell. Person met us promptly to let us in just when we phoned her so that worked out well as it was a long journey. Short distance to Kilkee and riding stables. We couldn’t find lighters to light the fire til the next day so we had to go to shops straight after arriving but that’s not anyone’s fault - it’s just we weren’t prepared for the cold spell. Would definitely stay again.

  • "The heat did not work upstairs for almost 4 days (arrived on Saturday and fixed on Tuesday afternoon)."

Michael was brilliant and kept bringing around turf and logs for the fire but honestly, why wasn't this checked before we arrived? The tablecloth had crumbs and butter on it (as did the placemats), the extractor fan/kitchen light didn't work, the cold tap on the sink in the downstairs bathroom didn't work, 3 of the cooking pots were rusty and unuseable, the DVD selection was poor (and this mattered as their is no internet -- which was fine and what we were expecting), the sitting room desperately needed a coffee table and some side tables and lamps (we brought a few lamps in from the bedrooms). In the original description of the house, a hot tub was advertised but I noticed after I made an enquiry if there was an actual hot tub, that was taken down. There was a Jacuzzi bath in the en suite but the Jacuzzi part didn't work and since the heating was off upstairs where the master bedroom was, it was too cold to use that bathroom (plus no hot water upstairs. We did enjoy the open layout of the house, the lovely light, the close location to Kilkee and Kilrush but honestly, some one needs to vet the cottage properly before you charge people money to stay there.
