“The accommodation and location was fantastic, beautiful views and very spacious accommodation nothing was missing, everything was to hand.”

Bed was great and very comfortable. Shower Room, large with walk in shower and spotless. Together with large kitchen/ lounge area, very comfortable again spotless and very well fitted out, cooker, microwave etc. The two sun lounges were very comfortable and most welcome when weather is not great. The most important part was the owners Mary and her husband Sean, they were so kind and friendly and went out of their way to help us enjoy our holiday and they did it very well. This was the most enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable holiday that we have had for many years and would recommend it to anyone who is going to Southern Ireland to try Ferry Lodge the welcome is fantastic the accommodation is top class and the area is great to visit brilliant coast line, beaches etc within about 10 mins drive and plenty of supermarkets in the town of Kilrush, together with local butchers, bakers, chemists so everything is on the door step. We will put Ferry Lodge, Kilrush on the top of our list of places to revisit hopefully in the next year. Well worth the Visit.

The property

A delightful, little detached cottage situated next to the owner’s home on the edge of the marina on the outskirts of Kilrush in County Clare.

A wonderful property for a couple looking for a romantic break away, where you can walk down from the front garden to the water’s edge and watch the boats glide by.

Bright and airy and all on the ground floor, with an en-suite bedroom in one half and an open plan living area with kitchen, breakfast bar and sitting area in the other, you will have all the basics close to hand to get your Irish getaway off to a great start.

Rustle up a quick breakfast and a couple of packed lunches before heading out for the day and discovering what the surrounding area has to offer.

On your way back why not stop in at a local shop, grab some choice ingredients and then prepare a tasty dinner that the two of you can enjoy over a nice glass of wine while discussing the highlights of the day.

Sit out in one of the two small sun rooms with a good book or why not go out to the garden with a picnic and enjoy the cool summer’s breeze?

Kilrush has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, for you to try out where you can experience the local culture, and listen to some good Irish music.

Explore the surrounding area and visit the likes of Kilkee and Doonbeg, home to the Trump International Golf Links.

Drive along the world famous Wild Atlantic Way and stop in at one of the route’s highlights, the stunning Cliffs of Moher which are a must see when in the area.

A great coastal cottage and a perfect base for you to start your adventure.
