! A font of knowledge about what to do and see in and around The West Coast!! In particular places to eat as this was rather difficult in these restricted times but with their expert guidance we managed to be very satisfied with our choices. They could not have been more helpful and never intrusive, in fact we wish we had more time to spend chatting with them alone!! Which means only one thing.... We may have to go back. Thank you both for a lovely stay in a beautiful Lodge Joan & Pat

The garden leads down to the marina and the view from the sunrooms at the front of the house of the marina is really lovely. Ideally situated for exploring what Clare has to offer, which is much! It's a short drive into Kilkee and the magnificent cliffs en route to Loop Head.

  • "Hosts Mary and Seán are so welcoming."

In the difficult times currently with the pandemic, social distancing etc there were extra facilities in the accomodation, hand sanitisers and a stock of latex gloves. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The view of the marina is lovely, especially in the early morning and the house is perfectly situated, only a few minutes stroll to either the main street in Kilrush or the pier and rockshore at Cappagh. We were fortunate to have lots of good weather but during a rainy day the 2 conservatories are a delightful spot to curl up with a good book.

Spotlessly clean and spacious. The views across the Marina were beautiful too and the town was in easy walking distance. The owner's were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We were able to get to Killarney for a day because the Ferry across the water was just a few miles away and cut down on the travelling time. We would certainly go back there.

  • "It exceeded expectations from the information given on the booking."

The Cottage had a lovely view over the marina and out to sea, from the conservatory(one of two Conservatories) . It was extremely clean and hospitable on arrival. The cottage was quiet, yet only 5 minutes walk from the shops, restaurants, and pubs in Kilrush, Co. Clare. It is also a great base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way on the west coast of Ireland. I would also recommend the day excursion to Scattery island from the Marina.

The location is good - on the outskirts of the town, with the garden fronting onto the harbour. The sun lounges are great places to relax. There are pleasant local walks and there is easy access to the Loop Head peninsula and, a little further afield, the Cliffs of Moher. Mary and Sean were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay - always willing for a chat or to advise without being intrusive.

Bed was great and very comfortable. Shower Room, large with walk in shower and spotless. Together with large kitchen/ lounge area, very comfortable again spotless and very well fitted out, cooker, microwave etc. The two sun lounges were very comfortable and most welcome when weather is not great. The most important part was the owners Mary and her husband Sean, they were so kind and friendly and went out of their way to help us enjoy our holiday and they did it very well. This was the most enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable holiday that we have had for many years and would recommend it to anyone who is going to Southern Ireland to try Ferry Lodge the welcome is fantastic the accommodation is top class and the area is great to visit brilliant coast line, beaches etc within about 10 mins drive and plenty of supermarkets in the town of Kilrush, together with local butchers, bakers, chemists so everything is on the door step. We will put Ferry Lodge, Kilrush on the top of our list of places to revisit hopefully in the next year. Well worth the Visit.

I enjoyed the two sun-filled rooms overlooking the sailboats moored across in the marina and being able to sketch them in any weather. My husband especially enjoyed walking along a sidewalk into town or in reverse to the lifeboat station/park with the "Winkleman Statue". We always enjoy cooking our meals with Irish meat & fresh produce, grocery was within walking distance. Kitchen was well appointed and it was fun playing cards or watching tv in the kitchen/dining/ lounge and looking out upon the garden through the glassed wall. The bedroom was very comfortable and also had a view of the garden. Intend to return.

It was a very long drive down from Lisburn N/Ireland, and when we arrived we were greeted by Mary with a lovely warm welcome and smile. Mary asked us did we have milk for a cup of tea and we told her that we were going to unpack and then find a shop which sold milk. She said "don't you worry I can give you some", and she came out with a jug of milk:) so we could have our cuppa,:) We loved our stay and we were well looked after by Mary and Sean. They are such lovely warm kind people, who went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay at Ferry Lodge. The Lodge is so lovely and relaxing and the bed is so comfortable. There is everything there that you will need for your stay. The view from the Lodge is so beautiful and we felt so relaxed while there and all through our stay. We had a lovely warm goodbye as well when we were leaving to come home again. We drove away with a really happy frame of mind and we were so refreshed and relaxed. We would recommend staying at Ferry Lodge to anyone who wants to come to County Clare. There are so many beautiful places to visit and experience that they are too numerous to mention, and we would come back again for sure. A beautiful friendly part of the world, and we will always remember the kindness and warmth our hosts showed to us.:)
