    What a beautiful house! The facilities and welcome were superb - even had flowers in the living room and dining room! We had an electric blanket on our bed too, which was lovely as the nights were getting colder. It was very comfortable, a true home from home. It was in easy reach of the various activities we had planned in Portumna, Galway,. Bunratty and Limerick. The kids enjoyed the gardens - and chatting to the cows over the fence. We even had a BBQ on our last night there. We would ...

A wonderful country house outside the peaceful village of Whitegate, near Lough Derg, in County Clare.

Well furnished throughout, this property will make an excellent base for groups of friends and family to come and explore the County Clare countryside.

Set over two floors, with five bedrooms upstairs, there is enough variety to suit most needs.

Downstairs you will find a well-equipped kitchen, complete with a breakfast bar and an open fire, which extend towards a spacious dining room with patio doors, which can be opened up to let that fresh Irish air in through the house on a long summer’s evening.

Moving on through the ground floor you will find the cosy sitting room with a gas fire and access through to a sun room, located at the front of the house, with table and chairs waiting for you to enjoy the early morning sun.

To the front and the sides of the property you will find good-sized lawned gardens that children can enjoy playing in while the grown-ups make use of the brick-built barbecue at the rear and enjoy a refreshing drink while sitting under the gazebo.

With Lough Derg nearby, there are many different activities available, such as fishing, cycling, golf and horse riding, as well as walking and hiking.

For those who wish to go a bit further afield, you can take a trip to Ennis, Killarney, Limerick or Galway and do a spot of shopping and take in all that these wonderful areas in Ireland have to offer.

This is a great country house for your well deserved break in this stunning part of Ireland.
