  • "Wonderful cottage in a truly peaceful location, perfect for visiting West and East coast of Ireland."

Took the train from Thurles to Dublin which I highly recommend for a day trip. Siobhan and Brian (the owners) were very helpful and friendly, their hospitality was faultless. If ever thinking of visiting Ireland, Shannonvale Cottage is a PERFECT place to stay, my whole family loved it.

  • "What a perfect place to stay, Siobhan and Brian are so lovely and helpful, they are on hand if needed but you also feel you are completely separated from their main house which is perfect."

Gorgeous house, the bed is comfy and Siobhan has thought of everything and more that you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. Don't bother looking for anything else as you won't find better!!! Thank you for the perfect stay. x

  • "The property was clean, lots of space for our family and well laid out."

We did find it hard to find the property at first, even with the instructions provided on the booking confirmation - perhaps a sign or something to use as a landmark would be helpful. Good WiFi and decent TV in both the lounge and master bedroom which was much appreciated when we wanted to chill out in the evening. The kitchen had most things you would need to cook. The oven needed to be cleaned as it was smokey even when it was just being preheated prior to putting food in to cook. Also a set of kitchen knives would be useful too. The host seemed friendly enough and left us to it which was fine as we are no strangers to Ireland. The owner does have two dogs who wander around the outside of the property. Which is fine if you are comfortable with dogs, however it made me feel a little nervous to go outside on my own. Overall, a comfortable, spacious holiday cottage with a lot of great places to explore nearby (Nenagh castle and heritage centre, Garrykennedy and Terryglass to name a few places we visited and enjoyed).

  • "We've just had a wonderful week at Shannonvale Cottage."

It's comfortable and ideally situated to explore the beautiful Irish countryside and coastline. I would highly recommend a weekend visit to the Milk Market in Limerick and a swim in the Lough at Portumna, followed by cake at the castle cafe.

Hi Kirsty Thank you so much for booking into Shannonvale cottage. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay, the milk market is a true gem and just in the road. Take care Siobhan and family Property Owner

  • "The house is lovely, tastefully decorated and well equipped."

Kitchen was provided with all necessary equipment. Perhaps a bit more furniture in the main bedroom - sayva sofa and a chair. It's a big room and felt rather bare - nowhere to lay clothes down or sit while putting on socks and shoes. The desk/dressing table would be better placed where the bookshelves are, with a mirror on it or above on the wall.

Hi Peter, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. I will take on board your recommendations and have already placed a rocking chair by the bookshelf in the master bedroom. Thanks again for staying with us. Take care Siobhan and family Property Owner

  • "Just arrived home after a week at shannonvale."

The cottage location was perfect for us, Central to all attractions in pretty much every direction along with the quietness, cleanliness, a well maintained cottage. Upon our late arrival due to the boat, we was welcomed by the fire been lit and the cottage warm. After been told about the food been 'savage' at the whiskey still pub. We took a little tip and indeed it was savage, amazing atmosphere and friendly. We was looked after and nothing was to much trouble by the family. We shall look forward to booking again.

  • "The town of Dromineer in Tipperary is beautiful, the Harbour with the boats and the amazing coffee and cakes in the Lake Cafe."

When we arrived It was very easy to get the key and we were even offered a lift into the town by the lady of the house. The town is very scenic, The Whiskey Still pub which we had dinner in both nights was a delight, the food delicious and they drove us back to the cottage afterwards around 11.30 in the evening. The weather was an added bonus and we all really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Nenagh is truly a town for all seasons. There are not too many provincial Irish towns about which you can honestly say that a weekend isn’t nearly long enough. The location was formerly a market town and its name in Irish means “The Fair of Ormond”, a reference to the Ormond Fair. Nenagh is a thriving commercial town. There are many insightful places to visit in and around Nenagh, Tipperary. Nenagh Heritage Centre is situated in two stone Georgian buildings which were built as the Governor’s House and Gatehouse of an extensive goal complex for North Tipperary. Climb over 100 steps to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Keeper Hill is the highest mountain in the Silvermines area and the 117th highest in Ireland.
