  • "Absolutely first class accommodation."

It had everything we needed and was clean, spacious, comfortable and warm. The little touches like a welcome pack and starter materials for the fire made it very welcoming. Mike, the host, greeted us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed Finn House and will be coming back.

  • "The detailed directions to the property were accurate and necessary given the very private location, but be aware that the turn off the main road is very tight."

The generous welcome pack supplied on arrival was certainly welcome! There were just the two of us in this large 4 bedroom cottage so we had plenty of room to spread out and a choice of which bedroom to pick but there’s more than enough room for comfortably sleeping and dining at least eight people and 3 separate living areas to spread out in for a day inside if the weather is bad. The large kitchen/diner is the heart of the house but views from the mezzanine landing were terrific in both directions. All the rooms in the cottage have great windows so there’s plenty of light, ventilation and views. The night sky views are exceptional. To top things off, there’s four spacious bathrooms, all of a high standard and 3 are ensuite. There was good water pressure in the shower, plenty of hot water and towels were good quality although oddly, there was no bathmat to be seen. You’d need to be pretty picky to fault this cottage which has everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Our only small disappointments were that the walk into Castlegregory was further than we’d hoped and the local pub/restaurant (Tomasin’s) was already closed for the winter.

  • "Our first visit to Ireland and when we arrived at Finn House, our first impressions were what an absolutely beautiful cottage."

It was immaculate and great attention to details. A welcome package on arrival was much appreciated. Every room was spacious, clean, welcoming and beautiful. We loved sitting by the open fire on an evening. The underfloor heating was such a luxury especially on a morning. The beds were so comfy and extra blankets provided (not that we needed them). We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen and it had everything you coujld need. The cottage is ideally placed for Stradbally beach, only 2 minutes drive away. The beach there & scenery was spectacular. Mr Finn rang us to make sure everything was okay with cottage and we thanked him. Sadly we didnt get to meet him on last day as we had to leave early for long drive to Dublin Ferry. We would 100% recommend this cottage to anybody wanting a lovely break in County Kerry.

  • "The property owner (Mike) was very welcoming."

The cottage was incredibly clean the decor was beautiful and very homely. We were greeted with a welcome basket of coffee, tea and biscuits. The view of the cottage looking into the mountains was great and at the amount of money we paid, it was a good deal. Arranging the key drop off was easy and the area was only a 20minutes drive to the town of dingle. Plenty heating and hot water and was lovely to sit by a full fire in an evening. The beds were also extremely comfy. We slept 10 hours a night! Couldn’t recommend this place more. Everything was perfect! Thank you very much Mike. We will definitely be back!

Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for the week. The surrounding area is beautiful with stunning beaches so my dog had an absolute blast too. Having a great pub/restaurant at the end of the lane is a real bonus. Loved it so much I’m booked again already for next year!

  • "Our stay at the Finn’s home was exceptional The stone faced house from the outside and grounds were magnificent."

Inside the home everything was perfect as well. We had 4 beautiful bedrooms all with their own full bathroom. Our favorite spot was the sun room off the kitchen that overlooked back court yard and mountain above. We enjoyed most of our meals and conversations in this sunny room. Another great room was the living room where we had a peat fire most nights it was so relaxing to sit by the fire and just chat with family and friends .If you want privacy this is the house for you yet just down the lane is the main road to Dingle and Tralee and beaches and Tomasins restaurant and pub. The home was spotless and beds were extremely comfortable .We have stayed at the Finns home 3 times now and we’re going back again, in the spring of next year to probably the finest home on the Wild Atlantic Way.

  • "We simply had a perfect time at Finn's house."

I could list out the reasons why, but, if you are reading this and are intending to visit this part of Kerry, don't hesitate to book. The house itself is beautiful - wonderfully kept, warm, well equipped, private and perfectly situated for visiting the best of the area. An extra note; as we were booking at a difficult time in the midst of varying covid conditions, arriving to a welcome hamper started everything off on a wonderful note.

Close to beach 15 minutes got you there walking. Pub and lovely restaurant just down the lane where house was situated. Conar pass and Dingle only minutes away. And our dog bailey enjoyed it as well . Closed in yard at back was great for him. Peace and quiet was lovely. House was lovely and cosy especially when u had a turf fire lighting. Would highly recommend this house. We will go back again maybe next year.

  • "The Finn house was fantastic."

The home was beyond any expectation you could ever imagine. You have the beautiful mountains behind you, which we climbed to the top of and the 12 mile beach in front of the house which we walked to and enjoyed every day. The home was so private I thought our family might be the only one staying in the village. But just walk down your own private road and Tomasins 5 star pub and restaurant was right there. The home was excellent I couldn’t believe every one of the 4 bedrooms had their own bathroom. Off the kitchen was a beautiful sunroom where we enjoyed our full Irish breakfast every day. Off the sunroom was a beautiful outdoor area for outdoor dining or sunbathing or just having conversations with friends and family while looking up at the mountains beyond. The heating system was awesome but to top it off if you wanted to really relax and get in the mood you could just light a peat fire in their fireplace and feel the incredible history of Stradbally village come to life. In my opinion you wont find a better place to stay in Ireland! I’m from Boston but I’ll be back every year to stay at the Finn house to rekindle our love for the Stradbally/ Castlegregory area on the wild Kerry coast.

  • "A lovely four night stay and the cottage was so much better than we expected from the photos."

The cottage is in a really quiet location and was really spacious and even with the terrible weather meant that we had plenty of space with 4 adults and 2 children. Most of the bedrooms are ensuite and there is a family bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need and the utility room with a washer and a dryer were really helpful to have. The only things I would say is that it could do with wifi and we would have been happy to pay extra for this so is something for the owner to think about. Also some of the soft furnishings and bedding upstairs could do with an update as they are a bit old fashioned but saying that everything was clean and tidy so not a big issue and we were out a lot exploring the peninsular. The cottage is really quiet and has a fantastic view of the hills behind and also the sea at the front. There is a mezzanine level with a sofa which is great for relaxing on and reading. Maharanees Beach is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring Connor Pass, Dingle, Fahan Beehive huts and the basket Islands visitor centre. The Peninsular is stunning even in bad weather. Castlgregory had some good pubs and shops for essentials. We would love to go back in the summer months when we could take advantage of the great water sports in the area. We would definitely book the cottage again.

The pub at the bottom of the lane did an amazing Chinese take away.....yummy!!!! Ned Natterjacks (try saying that when you have had a few) was the most friendliest pub I have ever been in, the live music was out of this world. Food was fabulous, and they baked my friend a great anniversary cake! We didn't want to leave. We are already looking at booking our next holiday to Ireland and can't wait to take the kids to Finn House. Thank you for letting us rent your amazing house. All the Best A Court and friends xx
